I kind of wish throughout the video she'd start picking off dancers who would maybe fall during the dance or make mistakes or just refuse to dance, then by the end of it Gaga would be the last one standing. Arcanum 5,058
I think it's more like a continuation from the Disease MV. In Disease she is captured by the Mayhem b*tch. In Abracadabra she is inside Mayhem's torment suffering anguish, hence her screaming towards the end because she wants to break free. Finally she does having newfound power that's why she looks up. I guess she escapes. I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love.
GerMonsterNotta 1,079
I see it as Lady in Red, was in control, and challenged her, One interpretation…. Lady in Red is Lady Gaga from 2008-2012, at her peak, she’s raised high and she IS the pressure… when she comes down to the floor level, to present day, she needs a cane and looked crooked…. Is this the conmentary that even if the ‘old’ Gaga was so come back fully, unevolved and fully 2008 TFM vibes - this would feel outdated … that the Gaga of today, which fuses past and present, is the ONLY option …. Lady in White (Gaga today) rose to the challenge of trying to match the greatness of her past self… However she is neither Dancing OR Dead at the end…. she is STILL and looking back at herself … she now took back control by facing the challenge… Lady in Red looks away, and hides under her hat, she looks sad… this reveals at the end of vid - that even though this was Gaga ‘at her greatest’, deep down she was sad and unfulfilled…. in addition, another interpretation is despite all the comparisons Gaga has lived through her whole career - the only comparison SHE cares about is comparison to HERSELF, and continuing to challenge and grow personally and as an artist and human is what matters most to her …. elegidadedios 61
I have the following theory: Lady Mayhem looked very decrepit and creepy in the Disease MV, whereas in Abracadabra she kinda had a resurrected look, no flaws... It was like an upgrade. Meanwhile, Gaga (as herself) in the Disease MV looked also weird with all those scars and to-the-roof veins, and, even tho she didn't have those things in Abracadabra, her make up and rest face was giving (at least to me) a more dead face. So, I think Lady Mayhem is nourishing from Gaga, getting somewhat more appetizing, not so monstrous, as the visuals from the album keep going forward. It's like they are changing places. I don't know if that makes sense, but I feel like in the next single+MV we'll find out Mayhem finally took place over Gaga and so on. That's why titles like "Vanish Into You" and themes like zombie and beast are there (for me, again). Thank y'all for reading my essay Edited 2 hours ago by elegidadedios
uglysexy 59
It's interesting to read what other people thought happened because I sure couldn't catch all those things What I interpreted though is that Mayhem challenges the white Gaga and the dancers, and here Mayhem is quite literally Mayhem, chaos. They dance their asses off, she looks angry and disappointed because Gaga is able to live up to her expectations. Mayhem comes down and challenges her further, face to face (here we have the daceoff section where the camera goes back and forth). The dance becomes stronger and stronger during the last operatic part, to the point that Gaga gets consumed by it (screaming part where everyone surrounds her), then she breaks out and finishes her dance. Notice that when she's done she's the last one standing. Then Mayhem looks defeated. The song in general seems like it's saying "do it, seize the moment, dance and challenge chaos or it's over" hence "death or love tonight". It's like she's coming to a moment where she comes face to face with chaos and her own doubts, and they're telling her "win over me or die", but we also have a moment where Gaga loses herself in her fight. Sorry for the long post.

I think of Lady in Red as the depiction of her early years’ success and the fear of failing to meet the high expectation. Especially since she has experienced backlash for ARTPOP. lady in White is literally fighting for her spot in the abra mv. In the middle of the mv there is a moment where Lady in Red looks like she is not having it since she starts to realize that lady in white is about to succeed. But in the end the verdict is yet to be made, probably and hopefully in the next mv. red wine, konvict, gaga (oh-oh-eh)

But Gaga won the battle and survived. this will be revealed in the vanish into you mv. and in the end it turns out that Bruno has been the lady in red all along. Wait a second… This actually makes sense… And she included the song on the album last minute so we don’t suspect it…
