DWAS was always planned to be part of the album. As Gaga said, it plays a very important role in the album. They promoted it as a stand-alone single because they wanted to make some buzz to achieve great numbers for the album. And Gaga made a post with a paper saying "October: LG7 First Single", but we don't know what LG7 is... maybe it was the special project but she cancelled it
