Pushing for an end to the nearly three-year war with Russia, Trump discussed the conflict in an interview with broadcaster Fox News that aired on Monday. “They may make a deal, they may not make a deal. They may be Russian some day, or they may not be Russian some day,” he said. Trump also emphasised reaping a return on investment with US aid to Ukraine, suggesting a trade for Kyiv’s natural resources, such as rare minerals. “We are going to have all this money in there, and I say I want it back. If that precedent is set by the weakest world leader who doesn’t care about anything but himself in Trump, do you really think Russia or other aggressive imperialistic countries will end there? All this ‘it costs too much’ nonsense, how much do you think a full blown world war will cost? He can try and hide in the White House but the conflict will end up on his door step one way or another if he takes his usual cowardly way out. He got extremely lucky not having to deal with any major conflict last time around but at this rate he’s going to actually have to do his job rather than signing executive orders all day pretending with the press on hand. WW2 started in part due to Britain and France appeasing Hitler by giving him part of Czechoslovakia in exchange for a promise of no further aggression.
