Canada will still sell a lot of it even with tarrifs because Quebec where most of it comes from is highly competitive in it because they have really cheap hydro power (steel manufacturing requires a lot of energy) The US raisijg steel prices will hurt manufacturing competitiveness by raising imput costs along with the loss of manufacturing from retalitory tarrifs hurting exports Its one thing to put tarrifs on finished goods which theres debate on how much net positive impact it has vs negative... but when u tarrif raw materials and resources thats universally agree upon that its just plain stupid

Grocery prices have gone up quite a bit in like the last week and a half beef is a whole $1 more a pound, most of the veggies I buy have gone up a solid 30% or more. I know this thread is about steel but this dude's about to starve us all. Whimsical bitch

The 50 cent per-egg-surcharge at Waffle House made me laugh so hard. As for Canada's automotive industry, I say revamp the factories and have them making pre-fab homes. That's what we need in Canada, more homes. Make products that stay here and lower the cost of living here. Although we havent formally retaliated with any tarrifs yet since they were put on hold, the falling currency affects everyday imports Theres little Canadian alternatives at the grocery store in the winter and the US provides more food for Canadians than any other Country
