eifulien 2,461
Amazing piece! It's brought me joy to see someone write about Gaga's journey in such a way. I get tired from the polar opinions, usually it goes either like "YAAAS GAGA OMG" with no substance whatsoever or, on the polar opposite, it's those Slant and Pitchfork reviews with snarky and dismissive comments. Here, however, the text is balanced, eloquent, as objective as possible while also acknowledging the IMPACT Gaga had on culture, which many in recent times kinda forget about. No other artist in the 21-st century has had such a reach worldwide and had culture in a chokehold. It's time for people outside the fandom to recognise that and come to terms with it. LOVE YOU, GAGA!

Nycboy 986
I lowkey hate how people are calling Abracadabra “recession pop.” Recession pop was music about getting blackout drunk and partying, like some Kesha, Pitbull and Katy Perry songs. Abracadabra is so much deeper and artistic. It’s almost insulting to Gaga. BRAT was closer to recession pop given its focus on partying and drugs. And MOST OF ALL, we aren’t in a recession. Anytime a pop song becomes popular, we’re just gonna call it recession pop, huh? Kinda lazy.
