Wait how did you even get that translation?

Abracadabra means “I create what I speak”

amore o na na  roughly means “ love or “

morta o gaga means “death gaga”

its Latin so when read in modern English , it’s basically what I said the translation is.

Just curious. I wonder how many people here believe magic is real and that humans have the ability to cast spells? Why , or why not? I’d love to hear your thoughts . I don’t know how to add a poll, but someone can add it if they’d like.

Of course not. The supernatural is just our monkey brains creating imaginary answers to questions we don't know the answers to.

People used to think a horse and carriage pulled the sun across the sky and boring a hole into your skull to let out demons would heal illness.

A lot of that superstition still exists as religion (organized or otherwise) and the belief in "souls" or "spirits".

We're bags of chemical reactions figuring out the universe and I actively HATE when someone says "we can't explain ___ so it must be magic/god "

Song's still a bop :whitney:

In Portuguese "amor" is 'love' and "morta" is the feminine adjective "'dead', masculine "morto".

I watched a reel last night of Neil DeGrasse Tyson explaining this to Piers Morgan, eating him up and leaving no crumbs

I don't watch many celebrity scientists but it is fun when they tackle creationism or people who believe in paranormal stuff :music:

Reality's interesting enough, you don't have to play pretend to spice it up :music:

I agree, but I confess I tend to spice it up a bit though, and I trick myself and say "it's probably just placebo but I'll do it". For me, when things are related to the physical world I'm all science, but when it's related to the mind I go full Jung/Freud/Lacan, I don't care what Evidence Based Psychology has to say about them, that's my pet pseudoscience :huntyga:

Oh, well the science of the mind is very much only limited by imagination so I don't see a problem with that :whitney:

I think you’re both right. To me, I think science and spirituality go hand in hand. Two sides of the same coin.
