Human Rights Council and prohibiting future funding for the U.N. relief agency for Gaza, according to a document obtained by POLITICO. The actions, which reinstate policies in place during the last Trump administration, will come on the day the president is set to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington. The U.S. has long accused the council of bias against Israel and of giving cover to governments with human rights abuses. It comes after the Biden administration paused funding to United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, known as UNRWA, following reports thatstaffers were involved in the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israel. They never did, even when they were members of this Council. Their membership was nothing more than a farce, and I believe this, along with other indicators such as the closure of USAID and NED, suggests that from now on, the US will set aside its superficial rhetoric on human rights and shift to a more ruthless, yet less public, counterattack. Moving forward, government agencies will directly take on the responsibility of replacing the activities of these organizations, including interfering in the internal affairs of other countries and funding terrorism in third-world nations. It looks like the rich have fully decided that the only way to keep capitalism going is by diverting from democracy and "western values". We had to fix so much already, now there's an impossible amount of cleanup that needs to be done.
