Katy Perry isn't fazed by her critics. Speaking with PEOPLE she revealed she does read her album reviews — but has found it's best to avoid them all together.
"You shouldn't read it when it's good. You shouldn't read it when it's bad," Katy, 40, tells.

She adds, "My therapist said something that really changed my life. What anybody thinks about you is none of your business. It's what you think about yourself."

Despite any negative reviews, this album is about personal change — and she hopes it can become "the soundtrack for anyone's life."

"I created this album out of a real shift in my life when I became a mother, and I really tapped into that feminine divine energy. The messages on it are celebratory. They're about love," Perry says of the album's creation.

"I have an incredible identity that I've been able to create since COVID, when a lot changed for so much. So the album really just celebrates love and this unconditional love that I have been looking for my whole life and never really knew it existed. That was a cliché, and it's actually true."

She’s trash. I’m sorry. She worked with a well known rapist on this album + can’t get over the fact that she has a song called “Ur so gay”. She does not even deserve to be mentioned on this website.

I’m not real, I’m theatre.

First of all, Kelly's trial hadn't started when Gaga collaborated with unlike Dr Luke. Secondly, I think to say that Gypsy is a racial slur may be debatable, especially as she considers herself nomadic in the song as the Gypsy people. She didn't use the term in a negative way. Quite the contrary, and unlike Katy Perry and her stupid song.

Everybody knew. He married Aaliyah in 1994 when she was 15. He was charged with criminal acts as early as 1992. He was charged with child pornography in 2002 but was acquitted on a technicality

she basically just confirmed what we all knew: she has no vision, no artistic side to her and has nothing to say with her music

"the soundtrack for anyone's life", "it's all about unconditional love" aka it's super generic and incredibly broad. there's nothing personal about it, there's nothing to actually listen to because the album has no concept or inspiration behind its existence

she clocked in to the studio, sang the words written for her and then went home whilst the producers fixed her pitch

mother, what must i do?

Poor thing, I bet she's needed a lot of sex with a man after reading the reviews post Teenage Dream. Especially the ones written by undercover little monsters and tay tays. Bastards! lol

Then again, if at least the melodies were fine I am sure she would get better reviews...but not by much lol
