It feels like she was JUST on tour.. and if it’s like the RWT then she will mostly only perform songs from the CC album, which was okay, but I’m not a huge country fan, so…

I saw her twice on tour for RWT and it was amazing, but it felt like a MOMENT. Cowboy Carter doesn’t feel like a moment tbh.

It’ll be interesting to see how well it performs. The economy will probably crash soon thanks to that orange a** and concert tickets only keep getting more expensive.

Renaissance wasn't much of a moment until the RWT, imo. People experiencing the music live is what made that album, so I can see the CC tour having the same effect. Everyone in them Levii's Jeans and them cowboy hats, grinding to Spaghettii. :messga: All jokes aside, I always thought Country music would be better live than in a Studio. I found the production on Joanne overdone and overpolished and thought live vocals with the raw cracks etc. in the voice would've suited the music much better (but my JWT date was sadly cancelled... TWICE. :laughga:) I can see this tour serving way more than the album did and making the album a moment in itself, because Beyoncé is known to be the best touring artist of all time. :ally:

The album is almost a year old now so it's a risk to announce a tour so long afterwards...but then I remember that Gaga sold out stadiums with the CBT despite the album being 3 years old with just 3 singles, only one big hit and very limited promo during a pandemic. If Gaga can sell out stadiums despite all that then Beyonce can with a one year old album. But it will be interesting to see if as many people turn out for a setlist of mostly country-based songs this time. We saw with Renaissance that it will be almost all songs from the album so as CC left a lot of fans a bit meh it may not be as big as Renaissance. So saying, we've seen with OTR 1 and 2 that her fans will happily pay out money to see her sing any song, even if she's not even going on stage the whole time.

Probably because the last tour only finished in October 2023. She has to physically recover and rehearse for the next and allow people a chance to save up for tickets. The last ones were so expensive and so will this one, so she can't do back-to-back tours, especially in this economic climate. I fully expect the next album to come out next year as this is a trilogy and the first 2 came out around 2 years apart. So, before we know it, a tour will be announced for that, to allow it all to be evenly spaced out.

Correcto. People don't really go to concerts because of albums, they go to see artists. Beyoncé did a whole "Mrs. Carter Tour" which wasn't really tied to any album (but was kind of also tied to 4, which was several years old at that point) and that was a smash. Halfway through the tour she released an album and used it for the remainder of the tour, and people were still attending despite the major setlist changes. So this will be no different. She will sing a lot of CC songs for sure (probably not all of them since there's a lot more material than on Renny). There's basically 20 full songs' worth of content if you use the Interludes as backing tracks for when she's changing. So maybe she'll do it all actually, who knows. In fact on the RWT she performed 18 tracks from her back catalogue, which is more tracks than on the Renaissance album, so to claim she's not singing other songs is a stretch. Artists rarely don't sing their old hits, and fans know this. Most people attending shows want to see the artist for the first time ever and don't really care what era it is, or are diehard fans who will go see every tour (sometimes multiple times per tour!). So all this to say – this tour will sell out and there isn't really much risk for mega celebrities like this. If Katy Perry can sell tickets despite having one of the worst careers of all times, there's no reason this should perform any worse. And then the amount of dates will be around 50 maximum, maybe less — she has kids and doesn't need to make that much money so she won't be doing a never ending eras tour type thing like you know who. They'll do the right number of dates for the audience and it'll all be fine. I also think she didn't want to go on another tour while Taylor's was still ongoing which is probably why she waited until that was over. Then the controversy with her hubby happened followed by the Christmas NFL concert which was the right opportunity for her to get more awareness. Sadly the LA fires ruined those plans so she could have announced it before the performance in the end. :laughga:

As a DJ and someone who attended the RWT twice, I respectfully disagree. I still get requests to play renaissance songs to this date, vs no one wants anything from CC. There are no post album viral trends for CC and streams have dropped off. Once renaissance dropped, there were viral trents for alien superstar, cuff it, cozy, and pure/honey. People still request these songs and they remain more relevant than songs off CC. Also: people wore cowboy hats to the RWT. The county influence was already in full swing.

But I’m glad you like CC! I know a few dedicated Stans who enjoy it, I just don’t think it was as big.

I'm afraid you misread and therefore misunderstood my point: had there been no RWT, the Renaissance album likely wouldn't have had the same cultural impact. Playing those songs, every night, and having those being filmed and posted all across social media + the film that followed is what led to that being a cultural moment.

The CC tour hasn't happened yet, so obviously it hasn't elevated that album yet as a result.

Your perspective is also skewed as a DJ because people are more likely to ask for Club tracks in a nightclub than they are to ask for Country songs... That's not necessarily representative of the overall culture though.

The reason all those viral trends happened for Renaissance is literally because of the RWT. The CCT will spawn its own trends, we all know that already.

I actually didn't enjoy CC that much, but I'm betting the tour will change that for me (and a lot of other people) as seeing music live is when it often comes to life. Especially country music.
