StrawberryBlond 14,305
While it would've been next level awesome for Gaga to win both awards, I would be satisfied with just one and she got that, so that's good enough for me. As for the rest of the night, while I don't agree with all the choices, I'm glad to see underrated/overlooked artists are getting noticed and rewarded. Even if they won just one award, it was just good to see them get a nod. Some unexpected snubs, it was more a night of raising smaller names. Shocked that Kendrick took home 5 awards all for the same song though. That was beyond ridiculous. I still don't understand the difference between "best song" and "best performance," aren't they not the same thing? They're not awarding a live performance, so...? And Kendrick's voice certainly isn't amazing, so I don't get it. The video isn't anything to write home about either. They clearly were just awarding him for having a moment in culture and for taking down Drake. Now they just have to keep onside and never so much as nominate Drake again or they'll look like they're just being controversial for views. As for Beyonce winning AOTY...I'm just glad it'll hopefully make her fans shut up at long last. So... High points Gaga winning her 14th Grammy (and extending her lead of artist with the most wins in this category with 3!) Gaga and Bruno singing California Dreamin' (stunning vocals and brought a tear to my eye) Chappell winning best new artist (deserved more but she got acknowledged which is the main thing) Charli winning her first Grammys (wasn't a fan of Brat but I love to see a non-American winning) CeCe Winans winning her 17th Grammy (making her the most awarded gospel singer of all time, a little-known genre that now has a singer becoming one of the most awarded females of all time) Taylor getting snubbed (I know, I'm bad but she's won so many undeserved awards, it was high time) Beyonce winning AOTY (surprising for me, I know, but at least it may get her fans to finally shut up) Low points Billie getting snubbed (don't think it was her best album but she deserved at least one) Sierra Ferrell not even getting nominated for AOTY (never heard of her but she won all 4 of her 4 nominations in the americana category and was the second most awarded artist of the night yet she weirdly was snubbed from the biggest one of the night, which is some serious f**kery reminiscent of ASIB's AOTY snub) Chris Brown winning another Grammy (doesn't need to be explained) Kendrick winning 5 awards for the same song (overkill, they're just awarding him because he's having a moment in the culture and they want Drake taken down) Definitely a year for awarding a variety of acts and awarding minority or disadvantaged groups (a great night for women, ethnic minorities and LGBT community) and celebration of new artists and awarding innovation. Best ceremony in ages. With Gaga having a full album's worth of material to submit next year, let's hope 2026 will be even better. Thomas P 18,477
This was the best Grammy ceremony I think I’ve ever watched. I’ve watched every year since 2010, and I’ve never enjoyed the show from beginning to end like this I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.
