I want this album to be praised by those who listen to it. She deserves positive criticism.

Oh it won’t be gp friendly by any means :ladyhaha:  and that’s what excites me the most about it.

The visuals themselves are so unsettling, i can only imagine what the rest of the songs will sound like.

Disease was like the second coming of Christ so, I’m really confident the whole album will be along the vein of experimental and dark.

fvck the gp, this album is for us  🖤

As long as the actual album and tour sell, she'll be absolutely fine (budget wise)

Singles aren't everything these days.

I mean we've all seen how big the little monsters' appetite is. Tour and album and main singles are almost guaranteed, but the Gaga fanbase expects a very comprehensive experience accompanying every era.

Nothing wrong with that at all, I just don't think simply good music would satisfy them lol.

I don't care! She's had enough success with DWAS (Of course I want her to be successful!). I want her to be herself and do whatever she likes. I never disliked any of her projects (well maybe I'm not into jazz that much) so I trust her artistry 100%.

Kindness rules all.

Lana Del Rey is my other fave.. I really don't care if the general public likes the same music as me 😭 if anything, it is more enjoyable to be a fan of music that the public doesn't like. The tour will sell out either way

Of course I am. Nowadays I mostly listen to techno/ industrial techno, so I’m used to genres, not known by the gp or shall I say “unliked” by them. I’ve always begged for a commercial artist to hop on those dark techno-wise instrumentals, and finally we might get that with Mayhem. Enough of the basic b****es

I hope with all my heart it isn’t! The GP has no taste.

I don't understand fans who prefer sales over artistry... Like it's none of your business even if I prefer that my fav artist get recognition for her artistry... Artistry is better.

If she created electro GP friendly and predictable songs like this :

(No shade to Ava but David Guetta used to make better songs back in time)

Or song with fake-relatable lyrics with terrible productions like this :

(Even these are the days of girlhood sounds truer, sorry not sorry)

:huntyga:

I want something crazier than ARTPOP but cohesive tho. But I still disagree with ppl who think that DWAS has nothing to do with the themes of LG7.

Disease is GP friendly! Lack of commercial success doesn't mean it isn't~
Heck I'd argue it's more GP-friendly than Perfect Illusion or Applause as far as first singles go. It's just a different market these days and obviously less-marketed compared to other Gaga projects of yore.

chewing on pearls

one of the reasons I'm a monster is because there's always been an element of risk and edge to Gaga's artistry, whether that's through her persona, her music, her fashion, her career moves, etc.

I think it's easy for fans to rewrite the history of The Fame and The Fame Monster eras to claim she was "GP friendly" then just because she had some HUGE hits

sure, her classic hits had incredible market appeal during those eras, but if you were around then, you'll remember that despite the chart success she was still a black sheep in the industry, often ridiculed in the press for her persona, her appearance, how "shallow" and "fake" her music was, how she was not a real vocalist or musician, etc.

I guess all that is to say... how "GP friendly" Gaga's music is means nothing to me after 15 years of witnessing how misunderstood she's been even at her most commercially  successful... she's a living legend at this point, and part of why I'll always identify with her is because there's always an element of "otherness" to who she is in the larger cultural landscape

in this essay I will....

Why should I care?  The music is better when it's not tailored to the gp
