My heart aches for whatever gay gets to write the review but not pick the score. *another eyeroll* The fact that they gave BTW a 7.9 on the retrospective 10th anniversary review makes me kinda sick. Maybe MAYHEM will buck the trend and get Mother her first 8.0+ from the binches at P4k. If not, MAYHEM is another illustrious entry in LG's history of being underrated because she defies mainstream expectations and taste. So proud. Idk I think BTW is a 7.9 and I love her down. Her impact is less about quality than experience. I think where it clunks is some of the fun but it definitely clunks in parts. And I’m a day 1!
Killa 16,679
at least the guardian is free . I would love to read them all. So far reception is amazing. I gotta say, for me the music was really well crafted. So many details in the production, turns you wouldn't expect. Things that work and i've never seen anyone mix some of these elements and still feels Gaga. We can say The fame etc but let's be honest this is completely different from her whole discography. She and the producers used every trick they knew. Some lyrics are so interesting. I feel like it's very like the fame as it's really a bunch of bangers that could be hits. Probably not my favourite album, i apreciate it and there are songs that really shocked. An album that really can be heard because of it's diversity but it's slightly tiring like BTW was and ARTPOP. But besides that, don't know if i connected to it. But that's just a personal taste and now these songs will need to gain a life and permeate your daily life etc to gain a new dimension. Overall i don't love when it gets too poppy in a very typical way, some of the choruses kill the whole vibe for me. I'll get used to it. I just know Gaga is really proud, she really proved once again how amazing she is. She put in the work and it shows.
nodandsmile 10,014
Gaga not really a critics darling so I say anything above 70 is a win Isn't Chromatica like her album with the best score?
PinkJelly 1,736
The Guardian review was a good read, haven’t listened to the album yet so I’m kinda worried about How Bad Do U Want Me being Taylor-esque, no shade I just wouldn’t listen to that style much. Chromatica had a few misses too so we’ll see. Excited!!

Mr S 8,541
Can always count on slant to give a negative review. Even though it's not the usual Madonna stan (sal and that other guy) I guess their new guys have to follow the same blueprint...
