nightadieu 4,530
… Gaga‘s struggle with how the public perceives her art. There’s a famous poem from Brian Patten, written in 1946 called „A Blade Of Grass“. ————— You ask for a poem. I offer you a blade of grass. You say it is not good enough. You ask for a poem. I say this blade of grass will do. It has dressed itself in frost, It is more immediate Than any image of my making. You say it is not a poem. It is a blade of grass and grass Is not quite good enough. I offer you a blade of grass. You are indignant. You say it is too easy to offer grass. It is absurd. Anyone can offer a blade of grass. You ask for a poem. And so I write you a tragedy about How a blade of grass Becomes more and more difficult to offer, And about how as you grow older A blade of grass Becomes more difficult to accept. ————— It‘s a poem about the misconception of what art or poetry truly is or can be. A poem can be as simple as a blade of grass, however society deems it as "not good enough" - why? As a society we believe that real art should be something as hard and difficult to understand, and Patten tries to debunk this idea. Art can be anything we want it to be; everything has meaning and beauty if we take the time to look for it. And that’s exactly what Gaga‘s philosophy has always been. 3 1

Anderson123 37,571
Could it be a ballad? Seems like that has always been the final track and then Die With A Smile an encore.

The first thing I thought of too. I'm willing to bet that the track is a spoken word version of that poem, leading into DWAS. Absolute POWER move imo.
