River 127,490
Elon Musk made a virtual appearance at a rally for the far-right Alternative for Germany party on Saturday, reiterating his support ahead of the country’s Feb. 23 election and telling the crowd that it’s time to “move on” from “past guilt.” The Tesla CEO addressed the crowd alongside party leader Alice Weidel, saying that the party is the “best hope for Germany” and calling to “preserve German culture” and “protect the German people.” “Children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents, let alone their great-grandparents,” Musk said, seemingly referencing the country’s history with the Nazi party. “It’s good to be proud of German culture, German values, and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything,” Musk added, to cheers from the crowd of some 4,500 people. Hydrangea 7,899
“Multiculturalism that dilutes everything” is a seriously disgusting phrase to be using in 2025. Gagaism 12,471
I wouldn’t imagine getting myself caught in so much anxiety about all what’s happening now especially when it comes to this guy and US new president. It’s been really really bad.

StarstruckIllusion 53,565
It’s not about guilt, it’s about not repeating painful history. Once I burnt my hand on a hot toaster oven. I don’t feel guilty about it but I know to avoid that at all costs again lmao

Here in the South they've basically tried to "reclaim" "Southern pride" i.e. the confederacy, while ironically mixing it with good ol' fashioned American nationalism. In Florida, slavery isn't taught as slavery. It's taught as American heroes saving Africans from a life of savagery and unemployment by relocating them to the promise land of America and helping them aquire skills like agriculture and domestic care. Any mention of America's past mistakes isn't seen as a criticism of times past, it's an attack on our modern country. All the MAGAs think this way. Sprinkle in the third of Americans who don't care about anything enough to do their civic duty and you've got people like Musk thinking he's a world leader. And the terrifying thing is...he might be. Whimsical bitch
bpmMonkey 7,730
Does this idiot understand that AfD won’t be in government regardless of how many zooms he’s hoping on to? Unless they get over 50% they’ll end up in opposition for the next 4 years as they did before over and over. The only harm happening right now is that they push the CxU further to the right as their weak leader try’s to play catch up with Nazi narratives, shifting public perception in the long run saving people, hunting things - the family business

Honestly it's already too late. Extreme right is rising everywhere in Europe and there are literal nazis walking the streets with swastika flags. Social media is the same, nazis everywhere even denying that the Holocaust ever happened. Netherlands which is a quite liberal country now has a far right anti islam government. Italy has a far right president with links to a neo-nazi group. Finland, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic also had elections and far right won in all these countries. Germany will have elections soon and far right is in the lead, same for France (next elections are in 2027 but there is big pressure on the president to leave or to impeach him). Germany's AFD clearly has the support of nazi Elon Musk, France's RN is a party created by a SS Nazi, they idolise Trump. Belgium, Portugal and Austria polls are showing great support to far right. Romania's left won the last elections but the vote was cancelled (rumors of russian interference) and a nationalist candidate was chosen instead. Like there are signs everywhere and it's all happening at once...

Considering most of these governments have gotten in power by criticising the left and current governments, with falsehoods about loads of different things, I wonder who they're going to blame everything on when the citizens are still not happy with the way things are. Surely it'll just swing back left when the facade fades and people realise these right wingers aren't the answer to the worlds problems.
