5 million people didn't vote for Kamala Harris because they "cared about Gaza".

I'll never let them forget it.

Let's be honest. Nobody cares about the Palestinians and the world just can't wait for the day when Palestinians are all wiped out.

As the world celebrated the ceasefire, Israel began a brutal offensive on Palestinians in the West Bank but I don't see hashtags, protests or anyone asking for an end of occupation in the West Bank.

Netanyahu must have some real dirt on world leaders for them to bow to him like that.

That's sad.

Just please lemme hide in your luggage or something if you do leave. I'm broke and unskilled but willing to do some relatively drastic things to pull my weight

It definitely feels largely performative and that's my other problem with the American left.

They'll write the signs and stage the sit-ins but when it comes to rolling their sleeves up and doing the work they just sit on their keyboards and demand that Democrats/moderates "do better" instead.

I hope everybody that is able to leaves Israel's terror zone and finds the peaceful life they deserve.

It's why I can't align myself with the left despite holding the same values.

They're collectively ready to burn it all down when they don't get exactly what they want.

A lot of the far-left actually DOES want to burn it all down. There are people out there who think dismantling the US empire + capitalism is the solution to all their problems.

But with that comes the suffering of millions of people. At times it seems some people are more interested in fulfilling some idealistic goal than actually getting real solutions NOW.

I consider myself to be on the left but I don't feel like my views align with this way of thinking. I'd prefer for us to get to a point where we can be free of capitalism's restraints etc but we need to be realistic.

This is why you have people on the left who were actually preferring Trump to win because it will, in their view, accelerate fascism and the collapse of the US empire.

It has nothing to do with defending “narcissists” though — it’s a 100% legitimate question. Too privileged to vote for genocide in Gaza, but totally cool with not voting so it can become a possibility in the US.

However, it does has everything to do with defending the lives of those directly at risk and targeted in America.

Such a shame how many Americans voters were played by Israel, Trump/Republicans with Gaza.

I believe it. Not to be all "I can fix him" about it but we were on a positive track and could have continued until we got to the point that we had something truly special to protect.

But now we've leapt back, potentially by decades and even permanently in respect to some issues, and for what?

All the immigrants, all the racial minorities, the women, the queer people, and people living in places like Palestine or Ukraine. All suffering now due to the cruelty of the American right and the stupidity of just enough of the American left.
