I’m not saying this as a critique of her person or her as an artist, but doesn’t it seem pretty on brand for Sexxy Red? I mean, look at Pound Town and SkeeYee, I would say it’s actually just an elevated version of that. Same with APT being on brand for Rosé and DWAS being the most OG Gaga song that’s come out in a while. Not really understanding the issue here.

Bruno has always been cringe corny and tryhard. This new contrived push is nothing unusual because its such a predictable behavior. It kinda feels like when Lil Nas X did that Christian song. Nobody cared because it was so overdone

that repetitive part is one of the most annoying things ive heard in years. its only doing well cuz its bruno, if it was just rose that **** wouldve flopped harder that marry the night when it was released as gagas fifth single off BTW

That last reaction is quite revealing. If rumours of Bruno's gambling debt are true, surely the success of DWAS and Apt plus whatever he'll make with his upcoming solo music and tour will be more than enough to cover it? He must know such lyrics aren't going to garner a smash hit as it's not radio friendly and Sexyy Red doesn't have a fanbase who will buy it just to support her (her highest charting solo song only peaked at #20, even her collabs haven't been huge, she still has no album out and her recent tour had 9 of her 25 dates cancelled due to low sales). She's just being picked up as viral content right now but she clearly is not on the same level of fame as Bruno, so why did he choose to do this? Did he want to be noticed for making something bad because all publicity is good publicity? I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sexyy needs Bruno more than he needs her. He had so many better options out there if he wanted to do a collab with a female rapper. Cardi's collabed with him enough times but Megan would've slayed. Did Sexxy's management pay him big bucks for this collab? It just makes no sense. I may not like every Bruno song but can still detect his quality control regardless. There's no way he thought this was good enough.

I'm so tired of this reaction. I get down to dirty jams all the time. Have been for years. Dirty songs are good if they're done by talented people with the right intention. Sexyy Red is not a good rapper and she should've kept her raunchy style for a solo song or another rapper who's on her level. If she wanted a chance at a huge hit with a big popstar, she should've kept it more PG. A dirty song can only defy those conventions if it's as good as WAP. This isn't it.

Honestly, I think this is just because this song doesn't line up with people's image of Bruno. They seem to picture him as kind of wholesome for some reason, and a romantic kind of guy. I get it though - there's already so many guys trying to be overly crass in their songs, and Bruno stood out as a bit different.

i was talking about how people need to stop acting prude not that they need to accept that the song is good or bad

also WAP blew up in part because of how politicized it was by the prude ass people around the world, not the integrity of the song, but because they couldnt stand women singing about their own bodies
