And she still got that #1 :ladyhaha:

There was basically no competition when she released, this year things are more competitive...

I don't even remember who did the halftime show last year (I'll have to search lol) :nooo: but I guess the SB effect wasn't as big as Kendrick's

I think you're very right. People need to understand that social media success doesn't equal over all success, though one does help the other. Gaga's current fan base is not big enough to carry hits, but the GP does like her, thing is, they often sort of sleep on her, hence why she is so "promo-sensitive".

I really think this era has the potential to be very big, but as long as the promo levels continues to be relegated to digital platforms it's never going to truly take off.

Abracadabra is successful tho... not at the level of DWAS but it is a hit. Not every song will be a mega hit

Abracadabra is like LoveGame. LoveGame is still a hit and you can't say it was underperforming by looking at the massive numbers of Just Dance and Poker Face. Abracadabra has really exceeded our expectations for a solo Gaga song. It just needs to stabilise.

If I could impart one bit of wisdom to this fandom (as someone who's been a chartster since 2009), it would be that we all need to recognize that individual actions of Stans or things like streaming parties are not as powerful as we think they are. I wish I could find it, but Stan-Wars.com used to have a fantastic article on how stans greatly overestimate their own influence on charts and sales. Poker Face, Shallow, and Bad Romance are career-defining successes and cultural moments because the general public was exposed and interested, not because stans streamed/bought as much as they could. As hard as it is to admit, we need to recognize that our individual stan power on Gaga's success is very limited, and we are mostly spectators to her success.

Miss Debra is predicted to go to 12 not because US monsters aren't streaming enough (which, btw, all the US gays are living for this song and are definitely streaming it); it's predicted to do so because Kendrick Lamar had a highly influential Super Bowl halftime show, and he has a handful of songs surging in the Top 10. Likewise, given that Gaga and Kendrick are on the same label, it is not in the interest of interscope to pull out all stops on Gaga at this moment. They're likely playing the long game going into the release week.

Also, my message is for Chartsters in general, not you specifically, dear SlaeUrAnus.

Some here act like it’s Abracadabra’s last week on charts and they close down Billboard next week:ladyhaha:

It will probably go top 10 the week after, and we still have the album release week.
Radio support is growing and you all know how important for charts is radio Al

I'm sure they will release the Abracadabra physicals the week of 24. February. This way Abra can be announced as #1 (or at Least Top 5) on March 3, the week Mayhem drops on March 7. PLEASE BOBBY THATS THE WAY TO DO IT

The Kendrick Lamar songs are meant to fall on the week after. If Abracadabra remains stable in streams and sales it will go top 10 the week after
