It shouldn't be Project having precedence over People. This. If you think about how exited and hyped so many of the collaborators on that remix album were.. Some saw daily streaming numbers like never before after the release.. For some to this day their remix is one of their most popular tracks.. They got “mainstream” attention and a visibility push reaching new heights after it.. And I imagine to realize you were just a “publicity stunt” or “cash grab” with no attachment from the artist giving you that opportunity, someone who is an idol and inspiration for many of them, must feel incredibly shallow, if not even painful. If you think about how Elton John gave Rina Sawayana a huge visibility push by playing her work, talking about her quite a bit and having her on his radio show and hopping on a remix of Chosen Family… or Charli still collaborating quite a bit even after getting pop success again.. Or Bruno’s recent collaborations.. The little (non existent tbh) attention Gaga gave everyone on that remix album was surprising, really. It seems like she gave much more attention to the artists who did covers for the 10 years btw thing, which still was barely anything as well. That simply feels out of character for her. 1

I mean look at how much support she's given to acts who contributed to older remix albums put out under her name. Frankmusik & Alphabeat on The Remix The Horrors, Two Door Cinema Club, The Weeknd, Goldfrapp, Royksopp, Hurts, Foster the People on BTW the Remixes. Minus The Weekend who is now massive and the rumours of her working with Alison Goldfrapp. She's not really ever acknowledged the others

Minus The Weekend who is now massive and the rumours of her working with Alison Goldfrapp. She's not really ever acknowledged the others This remix album was clearly different. Most (almost all) of the songs on DOC got vocals from other artists, and many of the artists credited were singers, not DJs, it was in the same realm of what charli did with brat where it is both presented as a remix album and a collaboration album. The previous remix albums weren’t that, and they were promoted & presented differently. You can’t compare DOC to The Remix and BTW:TR. Especially since she chose to focus on the collaborative nature of the Chromatica album and the working with so many people each doing their thing and mixing and throwing things around of it all, and how it was so different to how protective everyone was around their work and the fighting when creating other albums. And DOC seemed like a perfect continuation of that “storyline” when rumors got around, which it didn’t follow up on sadly. The concept of DOC seemed innovative, progressive and interesting. But she did nothing with it, which hurt even more after we saw Charli doing the same thing so much better, to the benefit of her album and its impact. The artists mentioned by you remixed songs on these albums “solely” in their DJ/production roles. Most of the remixes were in fact by DJs. And on these previous remix albums a good chunk of the remixes was released previously with a few new ones sprinkled in there.

I make the comparison because she had the same level of involvement with the older Remix album outputs. Aka none besides signing off on them. It was a record label cashgrab managed by Bloodpop by all available info. Gaga just signed it off with little to no heart like most of the OG Chromatica album by her own admittance. She was very quiet during that period too just like now

It feels extremely unGaga as someone who notoriously introduces herself to everyone who she's working with in a room, no matter how small their role may be. The people on the remix album were working under her name. It's so weird that she didn't say anything to them. Agreed. I know she didn’t but I wonder what was on her mind bc historically she’s SO grateful. Maybe she just didn’t see exactly what it was for what it was? Bc she’s done remix albums before and they’re kinda whatever whereas this was semi an event. Edited January 24 by Ziggy
gagzus 15,146
Not sure if anyone said it but the screenshot she posted wasn’t from the 911 video it was from that Pomegranate art film that inspired the video. I think she was just watching it for the craic
