I mean no one knows anything for sure I guess, but after seeing actual billboards with the album name using this pic, and the fact it was in the source code of her website also, I think people need to accept that this is the album cover. I think people need to stop deluding themselves that it’s all just a “buzz or promo pic” just because they don’t like it. It’s pretty obvious it’s the cover.  No record label would spend money on massive billboards trying to raise awareness for a brand new album by using a totally different image than the actual cover which would confuse casual/old school fans looking to buy the physicals on release day in March.

I don’t think the cover is ugly by any means, but it’s too simple. Joanne and TFM also had minimalist covers but the pictures were able convey the album message while this Mayhem picture kinda depends on the broken mirror effect to do that, otherwise it’s very bland looking
