I was slightly worried going into this think 'what if this is the first Gaga project I'm not so keen on even though I loved both disease and abra'.

On first listen, I was a tad confused, different vibe than I was expecting and some tracks sounded a bit rough (I realise now that was the quality of the links) and vocals were sketchy in a couple places.

That being said, I've kept listening and got the newest available links (also bought some merch and the CD) honestly I'm falling in love with almost every track. Initially I liked Killah, Perfect Celebrity, Shadow and Zombieboy and not much else but now It's setting in, I hear what she's going for, i can understand the structure and feel out the instruments and the genres more.

I will say I'm very surprised she's been so bold, I think this won't get favourable reviews if I'm honest and a decent amount of fans won't like it but that is what I want from her. To swing big and be more daring, for sure I think she could have pushed some of the tracks to a more extreme place to represent the title of the project better but all in all I'm happy. I'm obsessed with zombieboy, that is the best chorus for me

Ok so my favorites are

LoveDrug (my first favorite after the first listen)

Abracadabra + Disease (the best choices for singles - I'd say Abra is still my fav)

Perfect Celebrity (uhh yessss)

ZombieBoy (very disco & the fame-esque - actually giving me Falco vibes (Der Kommissar))

Don't call tonight (cute bop)

Shadow of a man (yaaasss, kinda getting MJ vibes)

Garden of Eden (This to me is "The Fame" meets "Artpop")

Killah (first listen I was like.. hmm it's ok, but now after the 2nd listen it like it more and more.. does have a sexy vibe :artdoll2:

Actually it's very 80s imo

It is a bit baffling that we waited FIVE YEARS, and it feels so generic to me...not BAD. Cute and poppy and GP friendly. But Taylor was popping out albums like this every few months... Y U TAKE SO LONG GAGA?! :patrizia:

Does anyone else feel like the ending of Zombieboy almost sounds like it originally led into the beginning of Shadow of a Man, and then was later changed? Feels like the tracklisting probably got swapped around a little.

IVE BEEN THINKING THAT... wouldve ate so much one of my fav parts of chromatica were the transitions

I think she’s really put something on this album for everyone , I never expect to like every track on an album and I’m the same with gaga. This is definitely her best effort since ARTPOP in my opinion to create a pop album that is exciting, fun and authentic

God LoveDrug is just....SO F*CKING GOOD :kry:

I've been listening to a lot of music like this for a solid year now, I didn't think she'd give the same vibe :kry:

Saw your face in mine
In a picture by our bedside
It was cold in the summertime
We were happy just to be alive

So gesaffelstein was in the album for this , like whyyyy :cryga:

Yeah, as I said in another thread, it's good but it's just Bowie's Fame and Prince's Sign O' The Times, heard it all before, why waste Gesaffelstein on this.

I think some people created certain expectations on how this would sound and now they don't enjoy it because it is different from what they imagined when... Newsflash! It would never sound like you imagined! You can't foresee how an album will sound!

Gaga said multiple times that the album goes in several different directions and it does a full 180.

I swear... Some comments like "oh it's too pop"... Erm... Was Gaga doing experimental music before this one? Was she releasing Bjork songs on Joanne and Chromatica? It all comes to personal taste, but some of you are bashing it, and making insane comparisons, and calling it generic, but after this release, I can promise you guys other pop divas are gonna release funky disco influenced songs and everyone will be like "wow... so incredible..." It's been like this since Gaga released The Fame.
