Perfect Celebrity is so grunge, another instant favorite. The lyrics… I get what she meant by it being angry to the point of sounding comedic. Will blast this way too hard and it’ll be a beast to hear live.

Okay, so I'm after my first listen, and I'm not as amazed as I was hoping, but I'M STILL AMAZED

The album is super funky, and I really enjoy that, I wouldn't say there are many songs which are sonically dark

I was sharing my short, as spoiler-free as possible notes for each song with my friends who are at work atm and can't listen to the album rn

Garden Of Eden - Not as much Fame-like as I was expecting it to be from snippets, I like it way more than I thought I would, chorus slaps, 8.5/10

Perfect Celebrity - verses are more interesting than the chorus is, but still a solid 7/10 (there's a reference to an ARTPOP unreleased song )

Vanish Into You - sounds like something radio would swallow up easily, very pleasant, 8/10

Killah - completely different from my expectations, probably my least favorite at the moment, a bit too monotonous, 4/10

Zombieboy - funk incarnateeeeeed! The one I was waiting for the most, I feel blessed to finally hear the chorus in HQ, the rest of the song is really interesting as well, my favorite from the new ones, 9.5/10

Lovedrug - judging by the titles I thought it'd be my least favorite. Verses sound like a pop classic, super fun chorus! 8.5/10

How Bad Do You Want Me - quite boring, not really memorable, 4/10

Don't Call Tonight - not bad, not my favorite, but I think it may grow on me, was a 6.5/10 but after the bridge (which sounds like a Royskopp song) it jumped up to 7/10

Shadow Of A Man - another super funky one, I don't love it as much as I thought I would, but it's still amazing, 8.5/10

The Beast - really interesting power ballad, versers remind me of Bleeding Love, 8/10

Blade Of Grass - beautiful lyrics, but it's quite flat, Gaga has many more engaging ballads, 3/10

I'm sure that notes will only grow, I can't wait to hear the 2 bonus tracks :sara:

My biggest problem with this album is that her voice sounds too tight and rough sometimes.:wtf: Love the production!

Shadow of A Man is the best so far. Haven't finished it.

yeah i noticed that too, it feel ike she was trying to sound like her “old self” but I feel like they always pitched her voice higher those days…

I can't believe I'll have a 1 hour break in half an hour so I will finally listen to the album. I wanted to wait til night at home to listen to it under the influence of a big fat joint but I can't wait, I have too many classroom breaks during the day so I can't sit with myself, it would be torture

No bad songs on this album tbh, this is her magnum opus :koons: and SO varied, she really did it.

Yes, even the songs I wasn't sure about actually slapped. She's a versatile musician and it shows. And to think the entire album actually has such a small team that wrote/produced it, it's amazing.

Wow, we're finally here.

I have so many mixed emotions on this album. As usual, I need to listen to it more times to solidify my thoughts, but just based on my first listen, I'm giving it a 7/10.

BTW is still her magnum opus for me and I don't think she'll ever top it in terms of its sound.

Top tracks: Perfect Celebrity (AMAZING), Shadow of a Man, Garden Of Eden, Abracadabra, Disease.

All other tracks are ok to me, no skips.

Actually, "Don't Call Tonight" would've been a good single.

"It's hard to blame you for your crimes when I have mine" is one of her best lyrics ever, IMO.
