Also when she was recording this she kept giving us hints with Prince, guitars etc. Anyone paying close attention could deduct the album will lean into those influences at times

Yup, I was kinda wondering where those Prince influence were when she released Disease and Abracadabra, and now we know where they are. Was I expecting her to mix these sounds? Nope, but I like them.

After numerous listens, it's a good album but I think I'm unfortunately disappointed after the catchy smash Abracadabra. Not saying the album is bad at all, but it just doesn't get my dancing and singing like Abracadabra does.

WOW IT HAS BEEN QUITE A JOURNEY…

I think the key to enjoy this album is having no expectations and expecting it to be chaotic in genres (thus, cohesive :vegas: she warned us)

First of all, I am so happy because I feel she has fully owned her artistry on this one, it feels like the calm after all the storm she’s been through and from the music you can really tell she is in a happy and free place now :bradley:

I literally started crying during Garden of Eden because it just felt like a catharsis, and all the happy moments I have experienced because of this woman and her music came to my mind, and all the joy she has given us when everything else would be dark… that’s unexplainable to many people and truly inspiring and powerful…  :traumatica:

Then the mix of genres, it’s crazy different p, going from DarkGa TFM in the first tracks to the kind of polished versions of her unreleased songs mixed with The Fame and funk and groove, quite a ride

The people that are complaining because of the 80s sound yet still they have been shoving up their ***** the last Dua Lipa records? :ohwell:

To sum up, a great, diverse, PERFECTLY PRODUCED album, which really shows the most mature and calm side of her, along with the the joy of the different types of music, to cater for different tastes and the fun of it all… makes it one of her best works :kara:

My favorite tracks: Abracadabra, Disease, Perfect Celebrity, Garden of Eden, Vanish Into You :firega:

P.S.: SO CRAZY HOW WELL DWAS FITS LMAO

I could not agree more with Variety saying: “Mayhem is dance floor Lady Gaga as we once knew her, free from the pretension that often casts a shadow on her catalog. Across the new album she sounds like she’s having fun, for the first time in a long time”

It reslly captures the vibes I got from Mayhem at first listen :traumatica:

May I add! I LOVE that some people complaing about having “basic” songs (HBDYWM, Don’t Call Tonight, for example)

They feel like her unreleased material and I am so happy that we get to hear brand new songs with that vibe and basic, simply fun and free in a 2007 Gaga style

Vanish Into You

We could tossed LoveDrug, HBDUWM, DCT.... Blade of Grass without Dope vocals would've been so much better...............

other than that 10/10 great album :lolga:

PhantomOfTheDance

I think my top songs have to be Abracadabra, Disease, Kill For Love, Killah, Perfect Celebrity (this might actually be my favorite from her discrography now), and Zombieboy.

Ok yep, can confirm that perfect celebrity is now my favorite gaga song of all time. I have been waiting to hear the rest of that instrumental from paris. She needs to make a rock album!

It’s a great album! Loved the songwriting… great the lyrics and melodies. I’m just so glad Gaga didn’t succumb to the pop trend of making 2-minute songs that start with the chorus and repeat it 4 times…  The album felt not so good at first because I was expecting a more electronic sound/production, because of the singles. But I think we never fully know the extent how good an album is based on first day impressions… but overall it sound really good. My favorites so far are Abracadabra, Garden of Eden, Vanish into You. Also, Perfect Celebrity, Shadow of a Man, Killah and Lovedrug. I’m excited for Vanish into You to become a single! It reminds me of Hold me Closer, which turns out to have the same producers (plus Gaga). It’s definitely a great add to her discography… it’s just not the TFM-like sound I was expecting. Let’s give it time and see if it’s a grower or at the same league of BTW/TF+TFM.
