The album is soooo good, but the Gesaffelstein collaboration is a wasted opportunity. Once again, her features turn out to be the weakest songs on the record. Her ballads are weaker than usual (apart from DWAS), but the rest is top-tier.

I'm at work and waiting as well. Cannot find any link to download/listen without a VPN, and would totally be mad if somebody sent me something in the dms

So I listened in a listening party in Discord, honestly I thought the album was going to be more chaotic, more songs like Abracadabra, however it doesn't feels very crazy? Of course I need to give it more listens, and I really liked Killah and Shadow of a Man!

Ok. I shut myself inside my dark room alone. And these are my favorites after the fourth listening, by no particular order: Disease, Abracadabra, Garden of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, Vanish into You, Killah, Zombieboy, LoveDrug, How Bad Do You Want Me, Don't Call Tonight, Shadow of a Man, The Beast, Blade of Grass, and surprisingly Die with A Smile.

Wait....

This is my final verdict, and my gay ass mind is usually very HARD to please. Imma get high and drunk and dance alone tonight in a club with my AirPods on. Damn, I'm going to celebrate in public like private in public. Sorry, not sorry.

LastNight

Wheewwwwwwww!!!! Only listened to it once so far but it’s REALLY strong and really unexpected.

Some songs will take a minute for me to get into (currently hate that Vanish Into You will be a promo single, there are way better choices) but it’s a great album. It’s soooo different to what I imagined. I know she said there were funk and disco influences but wow they’re SO present here.

I love all the different vibes, but it still feels really cohesive. And DWAS fits PERFECTLY at the end - it makes total sense.

Top tracks from first listen are Garden of Eden, Perfect Celeb, Don’t Call Tonight and Shadow of a Man.

Biggest letdowns for me at this moment are Blade of Grass (was so longing for something softer), Killah and Vanish. However, that’s purely based on what I thought they would be like, so I haven’t had chance to actually appreciate them for what they are yet. Glad my first listen is out of the way for that reason.

Can’t wait to dive back in and revisit every track!

Okay I'm writting this as I go along the album, thank you to myself for being a sugardaddy to fly me to New Zeland <3

Spoiler

Disease: 10/10, a ****ing insane song that I cannot believe exists in this timeline of life. Amazing start!
Abracadabra: 10/10 Slaaaaay! Using it as a song for my fashion show cause it's incredible as ****! Garden of Eden; 9/10 amazing production and vocal delivery, it sounds so nostalgic and futuristic at the same time.. Only thing I wish it was a biiiiit faster and snappy like Abra.. however the outro makes up for it I cannot believe the leaks were real :ladyhaha: lovely, hooky and catchy af!
Perfect Celebrity: 20/10 ****ING PERFECT TALENTED BRILLIANT, like omggggggggggg what? how? Kind of a shame now knowing we could have gotten an album full of this. The lyrics, the vocal delivery, THE PRODUCTION? MY GOD GAGAAAAAAAAA, want this on my tombstoneeee, my alt rock loving little gay heart is so happy!
Vanish Into You: 9/10; only because I dislike when songs opening with the chours    cute lyrics, amazing productions, vibey and fun! she really said lemme give the gays amazing outros on this album! it's so interesting how much live instrumentation she put here :o
Killah: 8/10 idk I kind of wish the song went a lot harder in the chours. Its cool, amazing Bowie like vocal delivery, and the Scream in the bridge?! like thank you Harleqin for waking that in Gaga! She wasn't joking when she said she's never sounded like this.

Zombieboy: 9/10 Not what I expected at all :o  love the groovy production, it's so late 80's bowie it makes me wheep! THE VOCAAAALSSSSSSS, ****ing hell Gaga. Only wish she ommited the hey mickey moment in the begining, but otherwise it's wonderful, especially the last part begining with the guitar soloooooo
Lovedrug: 10/10 Not at all what I expected from the titleeeee, amazingnessss! ****ing love the guitar splatered across the song, gorgeous vocaaals! Only minus is I again wish she went harder on the chourses.
HBDYWM: 8/10 Love the vocals, wish it was a bit faster and harder hitting; the key change in the second part of the song makes up for the 1st part. idk a bit too bubblegummy considering the grunge rock vibe of the previous songs. I might need more time with the song, cause it's not bad but jarring compared to the previous songs
Don't call tonight: 9/10 It's quite great, love the vocals and production, it's kind of the edgier sister of HBDYWM, buuuuuut I prefer this one, love the outro!
Shadow of a Man: 10/10 YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYY, it has everything that I missed in Killah, HBDYWM, a crazy bitchy chours that ups the production, love the fast spoken parts and the guitars splattered were AMAZING, SLAAAAYGAAAAAA
The Beast: 7/10, wish it was a bit more punchier in the 1st half of the song, the ending made the song quite great though I think in my personal list I'll put it sooner in the album, I think beteween Killah and Zombieboy0

Blade of grass: Beautiful ballad, love how it blossomed into a full song from that cute acosutic start. Amazing vocals, amazing lyrics. Love the imagery she paints and how it then flows into DWAS, though i feel it was the original album closer haha Love the soft piano splattered across it, though i was kind of waiting for it to explode even bigger or to pick up the pace. It is a great sort of segway to DWAS.
DWAS: 10/10, great album closer all themes considered! Wish it was maybe a solo version but oh well, it works so well to tie all the themes up. that inner peace of dying with someone who loves you uncoditionally.

Seriously an otherwordly album, personally a 10/10. So happy and so proud of her cause its seriously uniquely Gaga in the lyrics and production, cause I kinda feel like she let the producers guide her.. like kind of insane she still had this in her after all the detours of jazz, Joanne and Chromatica. I feel like she needed to do Harlequin to reach this vocal level of insanity, she truly let it all go! Can't wait to hear the bonus tracks! But she's in top form, stunning stunning album, feels like where she left off with ARTPOP, but bigger, stronger and wiser.
Thank you for this amazing gift Gaga, well worth the wait!

Caden

The album is so popy and melodic, wasn't especting this after Disease and Abra and I'm pleasently surprised (I love Abra though).

It has so many potential commercial hits and a superb replay value. I'm be obsessed with this album for a while.

THANKS GAGA, definitely up there with TFM challenging for my #1 album

it's not at all what I was expecting which is great (especially after I found Chromatica to be predictable and formulaic)
