This is my ranking of Pokemon games I've played so far (excluding spin-offs like Snap, Stadium, Detective Pikachu, etc.) 1. Crystal - my forever fave, I remember getting this for Christmas when I was 7 and was sooo happy to play as a girl avatar. I also love Suicune 2. Fire Red & Leaf Green - perfect as new versions of the original games and lots of happy memories of battles/trading with my cousins. I hope they make these again for the Switch some day. I still play it on a DS Lite sometimes 3. X - loved the gameplay and the French vibes, Xerneas is an icon too 4. Yellow - for the nostalgia as my first introduction to the game but would now be borderline unplayable lol 6. Gold & Silver 6. Diamond & Pearl 7. Shining Pearl - I only just started playing it, so far so good >>> 8. Sun - the Alolan pokemon were quite fun and I did finish it but just wasn't 100% taken with the vibes and story 9. Sword - I was hoping I'd like this because of the map being based on England but I'm not a huge fan of the RPG design or the battling style/elements. didn't finish it sadly. 10. Let's Go Eevee - this was such a disappointing remake to me All this considered, I'm hoping they'll do some more remakes in future that are true to the originals but with modernised playability. Does anyone recommend any particular ones I haven't tried yet? Platinum (wish this got remade over Diamond & Pearl) 4. ORAS 5. Emerald 6. Ruby/Saphire 7. Diamond/Pearl + their remakes 8. Red/Blue/Gold/Silver 9. Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee 10. X/Y 11. Black & White (I abandoned this generation) 12. Sun & Moon (Worst of the pre-Switch era) 13. Sword & Shield 14. I genuinely think Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire are the best main campaigns. I LOVE that game 2. Platinum. Gen 4 is my favorite, and platinum has EVERYTHING. It’s the best version of that generation’s engine 3. Heart gold/soul silver. I really love it but it’s almost too much content and the engine is annoyingly slow 4. Black and White. I think it has a great story and I love how snappy everything is. Not at all crazy about this generation’s new Pokémon. But everything else is amazing in this game 5. Emerald 6. X and Y. I find X and Y to be the most fun although it’s painfully easy. I love the region so much 7. Fire red/leaf green 8. Sun and Moon 9. Let’s Go 10. Sword/Shield. Crap 11. Scarlet and Violet.
