That could be a reason they wanted it shut down temporarily though, so less people will post about the deportations coming this week and we’re left in the dark. Considering that the Tik Tok CEO is invited to the inauguration, they must have struck a deal. How exactly that would circumvent the deadline, I don’t know. Could an executive action actually undo what Congress and the Supreme Court put in place? More importantly, what has Tik Tok conceded to Trump? Thanks, it didn’t seem realistic but at the same time things are so crazy in the US right now I would almost believe anything at this point. It’s going to be extremely interesting how things continue to unfold. Unrelated but sort of thematically similar, are people, gay people in particular, abandoning meta platforms over there after they changed their policies to allow people to post that being gay is a mental disorder? You say this as if most of the American youth have their priorities straight and they literally do not. It’s ****ed but if you’re not meeting people where they are, you’re not meeting people period. The smart activists realized this and actually built a platform on the app. This ban isn’t how you get people to care about other issues like they’re just gonna be pissed off.
