No.

If she releases at the very end of February, it should be fine. My guess is she won't make an announcement for another week, at least, though, because of the fires (I suspect the announcement originally would have been in mid-Jan, around 6 weeks beforehand, as that's what she did for Chromatica).

We have no idea what impact the fire would have had on the album's february release date if they announced it in advance like you suggest.

The fire has the potential to impact the entertainment industry for months with disruption. Production halts, cancelled events, reschedulled events, delayed launches, damages to equipment etc.

I live in SoCal and this is not true. Most of LA was untouched by the fires. These occurred in LA county, but on the “outskirts” so to speak. Many people here are back to work as normal, unless their home burned down.We have these bad wildfires many times a year, ever single year. This one just got more coverage because it was significantly worse. Its not near any of the movie studios/touristy areas. Many artists are just delaying in solidarity not because they can’t actually physically work right now. Films are going on as usual and so our TV shows production is not gonna be halted forever.

I realize to people who don’t live near LA. It seems like the whole city is burning and everyone’s living a huge disaster, but that’s far from the truth I feel for the victims I really do, but the fact of the matter is it affected only a very small portion of the greater Los Angeles area. And many people are back to their normal routine.

I'm just going off what the LAFD & production unions have said.

That LA based filming permits have been revoked for this week and next and that companies aren't to expect unionized staff to work.

I agree I am sure they are delaying productions for now. But I cant see them being delayed for too long is what Im saying. Probably will be back to normal beginning of February.

Thats fair, I am sure they are delaying productions for now. But I cant see them being delayed past this month or for too long

I mean unless the winds **** it up more this week I agree.

But this 2 week interruption will cause a production backlog that will probably take till Spring to clear. Or a few tv shows will have season length cut and stuff

Thats true the winds are the problem. They are not too bad for me at the moment. They are projected to end tomorrow:)

That is true I didnt even think of the backlog! It will certainly affect some productions more than others. Hoping the winds die down soon and the fires are put out🙏🏻🙏🏻

Again not downplaying any of this, this is a huge tragedy for our state. Just shedding light on what its like from someones perspective who lives here and deals with these fires multiple times every year.

She should use LG7 as political leverage and threaten to not release it until war and climate change stop.

ARTPOP Act II was the first one. :icant:

Yes but only till DWAS start decreasing so that a new single wont get overshadowed

If it's been pushed back they should just surprise release the album, there's gonna be barely any promo if they go ahead with the scheduled release in February.

to the people asking why this is different to places that are war torn or flooded across the globe: LA is home to a lot of the entrainment industry, to studios where things are filmed, edited and finalised, to offices where people work to make sure things run smoothly and plans are carried out but right now, it's all in danger

if these areas need evacuating, things needed for an album cycle to go ahead cannot be produced as planned and will need to be finished off elsewhere (assuming the team isn't anxious about leaving their homes and family behind)

mother, what must i do?

I personally don't think the entire world should stop every time something bad happens (which is the case every day). But knowing Gagz she'll definitely push the announcement and/or the album back.

The announcement might have been moved but not the album.

If I’m honest I just want her/her team to do whats deemed best and what feels most comfortable to fully launch the era in a non damaging way ….. she’s been through enough and has rebuilt things in the right way, through her undeniable talent…. For the sake of a few weeks if they think it’s necessary to let things settle first then  let it be. Let’s avoid another ARTPOP bashing or witch hunt from the press or trolls ….. this makes her unhappy which in turn makes us unhappy and there goes a cycle of unhappiness
