Because a lot of properties are within the evac or firestorm zones and so people start working on an assumption that they are lost. But then when evac order lifts and the fire moves on or is pushed back in some sections and folks are able to go back in they find certain things survived.

So I researched this yesterday. 

As of 3pm yesterday the Villa de Leon is standing but I don't know if it still is.

I know,  every single time I type "getty Villa" and search by time in Twitter, easily half the results are deranged trumpers or Maga that swear there's a pedo cult under the Getty, that they are glad the Getty burned, that the Getty actually burned (it didnt) and then showing pictures of the Villa De Leon thinking it was the getty... yeah people are dumb as fck on Twitter.

It hurts to live in a country where misinformation is allowed to go unpunished. Worse is that MAGA successfully (yes, successfully) managed to convince its base that the first amendment is under attack. One of the most common election ads I saw was full of out of context clips from Democrats, and the ad served as a "warning" that people would lose their free speech rights if Kamala won.

Then this dude gets 29K views and won't delete his post falsely saying VDL burnt down. I had to correct him saying AFAIK it didn't as of 3pm yesterday (I tweeted a resident who lived on the street of the villa)
