God this is so stupid and this is exactly what Russia and China wanted. They want to destroy NATO from within and turn them against each other. If Trump tries to take Canada Or Greenland NATO will have to respond leading to infighting and a weakened NATO. As a result European countries will distance themselves from America and more and more politicians here are already turning to Putin-apologizing parties (Meloni in Italy, AFD in Germany, FPÖ in Austria). Meanwhile Trump doesnt know whats going on and all he is thinking about is how to copy his favorite dictators. Putin wants Ukraine, China wants Taiwan, Netanyahu wants Palestine, so now he thinks he needs to invade a Country to Play with „The cool kids“

Which is another fair point. Even if hypathetically we were talking about joining the US, every Province has enough autonomy that they wouldnt automatically all join

Yeah, not all are US-orientated. In a distant future:

Ontario will join India,

British Columbia will join China,

Québec will join France (only for subsidies),

Prince Edward Island will become an overseas possesion of the United Kingdom,

Rest of Atlantic Canada will join Denmark,

Alberta will join Jamaica,

Saskatchewan will turn into an indigenous ruled country,

while Manitoba might join the US

and Russia will snatch the territories.
