bionic 50,111
The State Department has informally notified Congress that it intends to sell $8 billion in arms to Israel, a US official and another source familiar with the matter told CNN. The State Department sent the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee the informal notification of the sale on Friday, the first day of the new Congress and just weeks before the Biden administration leaves office. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last year accused the Biden administration of withholding weapons to Israel – a claim a Biden envoy called “unproductive” and “more importantly, completely untrue.” https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/03/politics/biden-administration-planned-israel-arms-sale/index.html

JoeCool 986
I answered No but at the same time I'm not surprised. It takes a special kind of skill not to make me miss Biden with you know who arriving in a few weeks but that's where I'm at with it all.

Arms sales increased by nearly 40% under Trump (increase from Obama's second term) When all is said and done there will probably be a small decrease from Trump to Biden

Bronco 24,810
The Dems have no reason to stand between Israel and the weapons anymore. So not surprising they've let it happen. The gays know how to party

Mister G 10,512
Smh per usual the United Mistakes of America doing what it does best. And this coming from someone who doesn't feel like a proud American. The people put in a f***ing p*dophile r*pist in office and turned a blind eye for 15 months at the suffering of a population overseas that simply just wants to exist. We're literally following the blueprint for becoming Nazi-Germany in the 1930's and you know what we deserve every f***ing ounce of whatever comes our way at this point. Creating so much pain and suffering is bound to catch up to us sooner or later.

Don't mean to "well actually" this but... Well, actually the Biden administration was pumping millions of US tax dollars into development programs for Palestine, Gaza specifically. Modernizing their infrastructure, getting them on 5G internet, and maintaining a working relationship with Israel where Gazans could travel freely between Gaza and Israel for work and education. Wasn't perfect, sure, Israeli society absolutely has deeply rooted anti-Palestine ideals but the goal was eventually to have Israel's occupation lifted and an independent Palestinian state formed once and for all regardless of Israelies' feelings about it. All those plans went out the window when Hamas attacked and Israel overreacted. After that, there really became no "good option" for the US. Option A) We continue to try for peace talks and negotiations between Hamas and Israel while their idiotic fighting kills tens of thousands of innocents. Option B) We leave 7 million Jews and half a million Americans defenseless in Israel while putting our own national security at risk (the only reason the US is so pro-Israel is 'cause they're practically a satellite state giving us a huge leg up in the Middle East). We'd eventually hop back into this conflict anyway as direct aggressors against whoever took the best pot shots at Israel. Either way, people die. There are no good options but option A arguably kills fewer people and creates less of an opportunity for full scale inter-country war to outbreak. As usual, we're just kinda there. If anyone is to blame, it's Israel for occupying in the first place, Hamas for attacking for no reason and derailing what has the potential to be a great thing for Palestine, and Israel (again) for deciding to kill ten fold+ and level a whole country in response. The US is looking out for its own interests, like every other government does. (See, Trump? No need to ship me off to the concentration camp, I'm #AmericaFirst) Whimsical bitch

27monster27 15,849
The US was founded on genocide and racism. Of course Biden is STILL doing this. You can fix a broken system, but you can't fix a fundamentally flawed one. The US needs a full-scale overhaul to fix all its problems. he/him/his
