I'm pretty sure she says this to compliment Bruno and "for the press" because it sounds good What she said is it was a "missing piece" and DWAS was written and recorded during the same period she was working on LG7 so I feel like it will have a similar theme anyway

Even songs like Telephone wasn't intended to be part of The Fame Monster album. She wrote it for Britney, and now we have it as one of the most successful singles in her career. ARTPOP was supposed to have songs like TEA, Nothing On But The Radio, Princess Die etc. The album's lead single was intended to be Aura, but I personally don't think it would have smashed in the radio like Applause due to its experimental production. Decisions often change before the release of every album, most of it happens behind closed doors. This is norm for all the artists and the final product is always not what they had in their mind initially. FFXIV WhiteMage 5,347 Posted yesterday at 05:43 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:43 AM Ohhh the purge has began, so it seems. We really are in a new Gaga era. Just sad to see people unstanning due to DWAS being added to LG7 but then again, we all have our own reasons on why we stan a certain artist.
SevenWonder 3,810 Posted yesterday at 05:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:58 AM Has she ever said a song was replaced or removed to make DWAS on the album?? I haven't heard that at all. I assumed she simply added it to the already set track list. I love the move, btw. So smart on so many levels: - Her album has already sold close to 2 million WW. Yes, that matters to mainstream artists. It means her next album can have bigger budgets, etc. - The song is an instant classic, which will give the album relevancy for years to come. - By having a huge hit on the album, her more experimental songs won't suffer from being called a "flop" should the album underperform commercially. We can just enjoy songs like Disease for what they are, since DWAS will do the heavy lifting sales wise. - And, most importantly, for those of us who love the song, it's going to make a great album (we all hope) one song greater. Which is amazing for me. 2 3

Starmie25 13,632
This gif alone is enough reason for DWAS to be on the album. Its her song too and she sounds marvellous alongside Bruno.

Even ahead of the album DWAS seems like a standalone era and it should have stayed that way. It should simply be a Bonus Track/Deluxe Track rather than replacing a new song. It also seems like LG7 was completed ahead of the release of DWAS so adding it now sounds a little cheap. Still a great song, it just didn’t need to be apart of the album if it will be replacing a full unheard track. Who's to say it's not a bonus or deluxe track? We literally no nothing aside from the fact that it will be on the album in some form. I also dislike this idea that it's "replacing a new song." We know virtually nothing about LG7. Why are you assuming that it's replacing something? For all we know, she could've had the tracklist done and just added DWAS at the very end of it. I think LG7 will be darker in nature, but she's expressed multiple times that the album is "chaotic" and goes through different genres and styles. Adding in DWAS isn't going to change the overall direction of the album. 𝕀𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒 𝕤𝕚𝕟𝕟𝕖𝕣, 𝕀 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕓𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕧𝕖

But that still doesn't answer my question: What makes anyone think any song was removed to make room for DWAS? In the age of streaming that doesn't really seem like something artists need to worry about. Especially since she clearly made this decision a while back, so vinyl and CDs won't be a problem. Also, just for fun, do you think ARTPOP would magically become a worse album if it had both MJH and Brooklyn Nights? (I think it would be a much better album, fwiw, as I like both songs.)
