Chappell Roan will say something controversial if she wins Grammy

During A Carpool Karaoke Christmas, Chappell Roan(26) spoke about her recognition from the Recording Academy. She called the Grammys a "double-edged sword," likening it to a "talent show for the popular kids."

However, the singer is excited about the recognition she received as a "gay artist." "How amazing is it that a gay artist wrote a gay song that went No. 1 with a gay writer who did not grow up in the industry, did not have an in, has been busting her ass for a decade?" she told Lowe.

Added Roan, "It’s an honor to be nominated with some of the other artists."

When Lowe asked if she had a speech written, she responded: "I don’t have a speech yet, but you know me. I’m going to say something controversial. Why not?"

I wouldn't be surprised if she actually wins Record/Song of the Year or even Album. I feel like the Grammys love having new artists to give a lot of awards to that maybe Sabrina/Chappell end up winning big.

I haven’t and won’t hop on the hate train for this girl (because the public just loves to build someone up to break ‘em down), but this is totally not something you should say prior to the event. Either do it or don’t. 
 

I hope she changes up her PR game in the next year. She’s young, but Gaga was 22 in 2008 and had a far better record playing the PR game (and a game it totally is).
