About 5% of mass shootings are committed by women.

It's actually interesting to read about within the context of the biological differences between the two sexes.

Do you know how horror movies use string stingers, ready horrid notes in their music, to create a sense of unease? That music is usually the same frequency as a baby's cry.

When humans hear an infant crying, men typically get agitated and more aggressive while women feel more defensive and maternal. That's 'cause our monkey brains prime the men to face whatever threat is upsetting the child, and therefore protecting his family, and prepares the woman to flee with the child and continue to care for it regardless of the man's survival.

So, men's brains are wired to be more predisposed to aggression while women tend to rely on violence mostly for defense.

Is most shootings where a woman is the killer, she knows one or all of her victims. It's an interpersonal crime, more like a homicide with several targets. While most male shooters just kinda go kill random folks for a number of reasons ranging from political (like alt-right shooters) or grievances in the minds of antisocial types. It's a selfish crime where the victims are irrelevant to the shooter. His message means more, whatever it is.
