Didn't someone else's ear get pierced in another shooting earlier this year?

no, he lied about it for popularity, lol. There wasn't a wound or scar, nothing.

How is killing morally justified?!!!!!

In the most rational sense, we can't justify this murder. The victim was definitely not innocent but the best thing could have been reviewing the laws to get these insurance companies in check, so that they don't exploit the people. It will have a much positive impact in the society rather than killing someone. Unfortunately, politicians are not interested in these issues.
