Federal court upholds U.S. ban on TikTok

The fight over whether TikTok remains legal in the U.S. could be heading to the Supreme Court.

On Friday, the U.S Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upheld a federal law that will ban TikTok in the country over national security concerns — unless Chinese parent company ByteDance sells its interest in the app by Jan. 19, 2025. In the ruling, the court rejected TikTok and ByteDance’s argument that the law, called the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, violates the First Amendment rights of millions of the video app’s users.

VPN for me. IG is so ridiculous now. It'll be a matter of time until there's a new platform where all the TT users will move into.

They just want to have control over the content. But the extreme right propaganda there is CRAZY. No matter how many times I resetted the algorythm I suddenly only had extreme right videos, so I ended up deleting this **** app weeks ago.

That’s so weird, mine is the total opposite. That’s why I prefer TikTok to Instagram, you can curate your fyp to your interests better.

I use tiktok like a middle age soccer mom who has a dark, gay past: It's cat videos, dog videos, bird videos with a lot of Gaga intermixed.

Where am I going to get my daily fix of adorable puppies knocking over sh**, Disease reposts and c*unty cats ruining their owners' lives?

I like Tik Tok because a lot of the content is funny, misinformation aside.

It’s definitely popular for a reason and is better at curating content than some of these other platforms.

I wonder if they’ll go through with a sale or actually ban it.

I don't understand either. I used to have 0 political kind of content on my feed and since early November that's all I used to have.

I resetted the algorithm 3 times but even after doing this, it only shows political videos to me, even if I immediately skip them and don't comment any of them  I muted like 20 words related to politics and it still shows videos with the words also...
