He did do quite a bit of promo actually. Interviews, a concert film, many touring spots and also an award show performance

Just as some of the comments here: he’s bland and boring. I mean he is good looking and can sing but that’s it. There are plenty of good looking and great singers  out there, way way better than the current popular artists but they are not marketable. So in a sense, Shawn’s star power stagnated and he was left behind. Plus his songs are not bad but not excellent either.
