Do People Know About Disease?

Honestly communication around Disease was terrible. 

The best way to make a song being known is autoplay on streaming services which they haven't even tried. She started the TikTok coverage a bit too late and releasing music video not immediatly (and as a bundle with the DWAS live which song is clearly taking all the hype lately) was a mistake 

Anyway I trully hope they will return with biggest and smarter plans with single #2. Because Disease was a serve and deserved far far better.

Was good news for US that we had Harlequin but amidst the popular duet, an album Most might have not understood what It was and the unpopularity of the movie didn't help to clear the Waters. A new single in those conditions really Is bound to not have much sucess

But the problem must be the confusion that generates from It all being different genres and projects with different aesthetics without time to digest It. 

You might even recieve a notification but if you don't recognize the artist, the Song etc you won't play. Or if its not familiar. Familiarity would come from It looking or sounding similar. 

For me for example a m. Martinez era Is a lot tò digest, It requires a bit of dedication tò enter in the world. The halsey new album Also gave same vibe. I don't love them, so i won't even bother.

Radio is playing it, it got the #1 on TTH, she made several TikTok posts about it, 2 live performances. What else is she supposed to do?

Well a radio interview? Or a daytime/nighttime interview? Or an actual live performance? Billboards? Public appearances? Anything to let the public know she's back.. yea she did tiktok and stuff, but in reality she's been lost in the ether since Joker promo and just posted stuff online. The only public appearance post release was the rally where she sang a cover + a decade old song on piano.

The public was dragging her because of Joker, they had no choice but doing what they actually did.  That or delaying Disease until the new year.

Another round of lashings will happen when she gets 0 noms at this year oscars, but hopefull they'll be less "loud" and we can put that disaster in the past for once and for all.

Honestly most people don't keep up with music updates. Personally I just try to keep up with artists I follow. I think most people I know don't even do that, artists they like will release new music and they're not aware of it immediately.

Being lashed out is kind of part of the fame game sadly. They also lashed at the Wednesday news but not really about music news cause those whom heard the song liked and praised it independently from the Joker fiasco, while her acting has been kinda put under question with her recent roles.  So perhaps she could burry the acting bs with what she's good at - which is preforming pop or jazz music. 

At the end of the day its down to her slightly bad decisions when it comes to the roles she takes since both HOG and FAD weren't that great compared to AHS and ASIB. And I think everyone collectively misses the vigor she puts into acting projects being put into music.

I kinda wish they would have waited until January; maybe Disease could have been a cute hit like Stupid Love, people would have forgotten about Joker by then and I don’t think DWAS would still be so strong especially after Christmas

Maybe we are being a bit too relentless like its the end of the world.

At the end of the day the single was a bomb but She maintained her High streams, ofc due tò dwas but its Always those extra 1 M a day. 

Brat First single made no noise of i recall. Beyonce , like many others Released Two singles at once.

So its not like something Is Lost from disease being Released maybe too early. 

Unless theres really no other Song that can capture the public. At the end of the day theres only Need of One Song to Spark interest. Even more so when dwas was prob top 10 most sucessful songs of the year and Will continue tò be played in radio the whole next year surely.  In the sense that Shes not forgotten. Soomething Will Stick, eventually

I was adamant all year that if we didn’t get the lead single before August it wasn’t coming until 2025, because they wouldn’t be foolish enough to release something so monumental so close to Joker and the holidays.

Turns out the only thing I was wrong about was they are indeed that foolish

For now I think Disease is bigger than Stupid Love though. The only thing SL had was a great debut, but 2020 was a different time
