I mean obviously to someone the scale of Taylor Swift it means **** all in the grand scheme of things. 

But if you were someone ordinary like us, someone saying you don't deserve where you are in life as a result of your hard work is absolutely someone acting out of hate & spite. 

Simply put, to hate something is to feel intense dislike for something. Like I hate marmite i'm more than just rude towards the concept of marmite. 
To go out of you way to discredit anyone and say they don't deserve success is not the action of someone unbothered or someone with a casual disinterest or low level dislike for something. Hell it's not even a rational critique of someone's art - because it crosses the point where you're expressing your own personal view on the art and instead criticising everyone else for not sharing that opinion. 
 
I'd say anyone who goes to the effort to to say negative things about someone or something and then double down on that behaviour is a hateful person.

Maybe the insulting thing is that you try to compare what happens here with real life. This is a mainstream pop forum where basically 99% of the things discussed are banal stuff, so if you try to stablish a parallelism with reality there's a problem

And even if this is mostly banal stuff, respect should always be present, hence my critizism about using mediocre or other ways to downgrade someone

Anyway in reality more than 1% is serious on this site. Have u seej world news and politics section? There u can find REAL hate comments from time to time that actually would qualify

I edited my post while you were answering. Yes, banal stuff but always respectful. And calling someone mediocre, discredit their work ot thinking they are in the possession of the right to decide who deserves success is not on my definition of respect

I am confused as to why does this site dislike Taylor so much? She makes POP music, the same kind of music Gaga makes. If you like Gaga's music, you have no reason not to like Taylor's output.

I mean i like a lot of her singles. Im sure a lot of other ppl that think shes over rated also like at least some of her music

 

But average vocals, mid dancing where the back up dancers do most of the work and overall generic wardrobe imo doesnt justify that much hype and adoration. Shes got some bops but ppl acting like shes the 2nd coming

Im saying that #1 a site being largely babal stuff is kind of besides the point.

 

 

#2 Ur saying not respectful. That is not the same as hate comment and thats my point. If were gonna put rudeness on the same level as hate comment then hate comments is suddely a term that starts to loose its potency in meaning cuz ur watering it down by comparing it with more trivial and less serious remarks

 

Lastly i agree neverthless ppl shouldnt be rude... but u can not expect a huge star not to be critically debated. If they can be praised to no end and make over $1B (which imo no one in a fair world should even be that rich), then you should also be willing to take mild criticism from ppl that think ur over rated

 

No one here is calling her names, making threats or anything serious like that. Some of us simply think shes simply over rated and I hardly think its going too far to express that. Im sorry but debate like that comes in entertainment. You cant ONLY get cult level adoration from everyone
