Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin's daughter, Apple, 20, has come under fire after a video from her debutante ball in Paris went viral.

The exclusive event, held last Saturday at the opulent Hotel Shangri-La with rooms at $1,000 per night, featured Apple as one of 20 young women making their high society debuts at the esteemed Le Bal des Débutantes.

Donning an elegant strapless gown in sky-blue from Valentino's Spring 2025 line, Apple was the picture of grace that evening.

However, controversy erupted when footage emerged showing her interrupting another debutante's photoshoot.

In the clip, Apple can be seen entering the shot from behind, hands on hips, shoving the other girl aside to strike several poses.

The displaced debutante gave a nervous laugh while Apple continued to command the camera.

After her impromptu photo session, Apple stepped away, nearly bumping into yet another debutante poised for her photo.

Social media users criticized her actions, with comments like "How obnoxious and entitled she is," and "Oh wow, why did Apple do that? Let the other girl have a moment."

Others remarked, "Not good behaviour for such an event," and some even compared her to Regina George, the iconic Mean Girls character known for her queen bee antics.

While critics were quick to weigh in, some defended Apple's conduct at the prestigious event, suggesting that the girls might actually be pals.

Renowned for its exclusivity, Ophélie Renouard's ball extends invitations to a carefully curated roster of attendees based on looks, intellect, and familial ties.

The soiree doubles as a charitable initiative, raising funds for two organizations dedicated to children's health, and regularly hosts European royals alongside daughters of Hollywood heavyweights.

The tradition sees each debutante partnered with a gentleman escort or 'chevalier', generally hailing from notable lineage. Apple had the distinct honor of being paired with Count Leo Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck for the occasion.

Um... it looked like she was a bit tipsy and trying to pose WITH the other girl.

Her body language doesn't read rude or entitled at all.

It looked like she was trying to have an “I ate” moment by posing with the girl in the black dress. The execution wasn’t the best, but it doesn’t seem like she was trying to harm anyone.

I saw a few posts about the ball on my timeline and realized these people live in a universe of their own. They refer to a guy as the contender to the throne of France. There's still the whole nobility hierarchy among them even though it has no weight legally and nobles technically don't exist. That's hilarious.
