Ohio limits restroom use by trans students

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Transgender students from kindergarten through college at Ohio public and private schools will be banned from using multiperson bathrooms that fit their gender identities under a measure that Republican Gov. Mike DeWine said Wednesday that he has signed.

The Republican-backed measure — labeled the “Protect All Students Act” — requires public and private schools, colleges and universities to designate separate bathrooms, locker rooms and overnight accommodations “for the exclusive use” of either males and females, based on one’s gender assigned at or near birth, in school buildings and other facilities used for school-sponsored events.

Just make washrooms gender neutral like in sca dinavia and stop the fighting. I think its a compromise everyone can live with if they are reasonable

 

Tbh personally I am not sure why gender identity is a factor in bathroom use as presumably segregation in bathrooms was based on different sex and private body parts not how you express your gender identity. But i dont wanna argue or offend anyone so ill admit since im not trans I cant fully understand

 

And on the flip side if u have closed stalls and get rid of urinols, no one has to accidentally see someone elses private body parts. So not sure why sex or gender has to matter in a bathroom. You only need to interact when washring hands

 

So again, I feel gender neutral washrooms are the best way to move forward. Its working just fine in Norway, Sweden, Finland etc

The MAGAts really turned this into a cultural war, so much rage-baiting and disinformation going on that I had to educate my straight brother recently that RuPauls Drag Race isnt trying to "convince people to be transgenders" because apparently its whats all over his Twitter feed.

They don’t want a solution like gender neutral restrooms, not that there’s a problem that needs a solution anyway. No one is wanting this for safety reasons, trans people aren’t attacking people in restrooms. It’s about transphobia plain and simple.

Such a non-issue. Trans people have been using the appropriate restrooms since before transition surgeries were a thing and a little sign on the door won't stop a predator. It's just this meme but "that he/she wants to use your bathroom" instead:
