Next Single?

When do you guys believe the next single will come out?

 

I have a hard time seeing her drop before Christmas, due to the famous Christmas freeze, and Rose is dropping an album in early December. Her label will probably hard core push a single during that drop, too.

But it seems like a long wait from an early November release to January for her next single. If they don't care about the charts as much (I still think her team and label care about the charts to a certain degree), I do think a ballad or softer song could go top ten before Christmas...even if it won't hit the top five.

 

Also, do you think the next song will be "safer?"

I've always thought Gaga was in a weird place with the critics (similar to Miley, Rihanna, and Halsey), because when she did things like Joanne they deemed it "inauthentic" but then they also wanted her to change up her style when she put out an album like Chromatica. 

To be fair, Disease was very well reviewed by all of the critics...arguably one of her best reviewed singles of all and the fans loved it...even if it had a middling performance with the charts. I know people honed in on that Vulture article that kind of tore Gaga apart, but that was an outlier...the other critics were all very complimentary and even Slant, which is always harsh on hell on her, begrudgingly went "well, it's semi decent" (and by Slant's standards, that's a rave in regards to Gaga).

Critics and fans might love Disease, but it does feel like the GP might eat up a ballad if it's pushed hard by her label & she does a few live performances.

I mean, I’d love new music from Gaga but I think she should let the song marinate a little. The song is doing great on radio. Maybe January would be the best choice. I’m hoping for zero ballads personally. I got my Gaga ballad dose from Harlequin. She should release a new video in Jan and a third lined up for the week of the album release. Then let the fans choose the fourth.

The cool thing about Gaga’s career is that she can basically have big wins and losses, yet there’s always a huge audience excited for her next release. She should honestly continue to let Disease marinate and do its thing, and by the time early 2025 rolls around, which let's be real it’ll be here in like 2 sec, hopefully her public image will have had time to slightly reset and the slate will be clear for the continuation of LG7

I'd love her to push a promo song album track with album pre-order this year though

Maybe end of january so she can promote it at the Grammys and then release the album after that?

I expect the 2nd single to be released around Feb. 21, album on Feb. 28

I think it will be a more uptempo track that they won’t push either. Then, as soon as the album gets released, they’ll push a collab (if there’s one) and release it as a single soon after if it clicks with the GP. Video two months later.

The best for me would be

- Album pre-order late November / early December with release of a promo single (à la Hair, AYO, Venus), just for the sake of selling the album.

- Second single with more frontloaded promo somewhere in January. With Tour announcement

- New single promo the week before album release in February (Sour Candy vibes).

- Then promo around the full album in Spring + Festival times.

It seems the strategy for the album is maximum secrecy so I expect them to launch the 2nd single alongside the album in February

No I hope there's at least one ballad, she always have a ballad song in her electro albums, I think that an album is even more interesting when it can transmit different emotions and not a non-stop "boom-boom" 

A ballad can be dynamic and emotional like "You and I", I do think that she will give us at least one ballad by seeing how she turned "Disease" into a Rock Ballad in the live version, it's honestly a whole new way to sing for her, she need to exploit her vocals and different compositions.
