Considering her UK tour history I'm kind of shocked she sold out stadiums so easily.

She's talented af even if her music isn't my personal thing, so definitely seems deserved tbh

I knew she'd sell it out, but instantaneously? Wow. Can't help but think it's not just Brits but people from all over Europe because it's literally just UK and Ireland is announced and knowing Lana, this might be it for Europe. Which is why she can do such big venues, as it encourages the whole continent to come to the only dates. It really should be made clearer if there will be more. Bummed that I didn't get tickets, thought I could wait a while. She's already announced a second London show, though, which is at the biggest stadium, so there's definitely hope that she could add more. Hoping this is just to get started and she might do another arena leg later. And if I can't see it, well, I have seen her twice in intimate venues, which is more than some people have.

It makes sense because she's deprived us for so long. It's like Taylor with her Eras tour. That one still doesn't make complete sense to me because she barely toured any countries outside of America all this time and suddenly people all over the world pack out stadiums to see her but she has built up many albums, so yeah. Lana's the same. I just hope she doesn't have to cancel them like she had to do the last time she came here. And for her first proper tour, she actually booked a small venue and I got a ticket, but it was quickly realised she was successful enough that she could upgrade to an arena, which she did, and tickets could be used at the new venue. Even back then, she had the demand. Its obviously only grown in 11 years. It makes me really hopeful that Gaga can do stadiums of this size when she tours here. She only done weird ones like Twickenham and Tottenham Hotspur when her contemporaries are selling out the big one, Wembley. If Lana, who only has a handful of top 10's here, can do stadiums of this calibre, so can Gaga with her 6 #1's and countless further hits.

I mean Twickenham's capacity is probably why it got picked back in the day.

The Hotspurs choice was probably because it was a newish stadium and they likely paid above the odds to get it used.

Definitely agree there is zero reason, in the current market for touring, that Gaga can't fill Wembley

Even more shocked because the ticket prices were ridiculously expensive

it's very simple: Americans have been flocking to Europe for decades and it only got worse in the past few years because:

(1) they're fanatics
(2) tickets are always more affordable in europe, and easier to buy as well (since europeans are less obsessive than american stans). sometimes a plane to europe + tickets + hotel is cheaper than the actual same ticket in the usa... and
(3) there are no us dates for this specific event so american mega stans panicked and decided to go to europe instead

and that is how lana del rey sells out 5 dates in the uk. Also a lot of other europeans (France, belgium, etc.) get tired waiting for her to go there and just go to the UK instead. So it's not just english people buying these tickets, far from it.

@strawberryblond lana does frequently come to europe though? she does festivals every few years, she did a few shows in london (one cancelled due to pandemic) and even did a europe only tour after ocean bvd came out.
