I am excited to see what she does. Her last Coachella performance was last minute. She stepped in when Beyoncé couldn’t any more and had to quickly plan her set. This one sounds like she put a ton of thought and planning into this one and she was meant to be a headliner this year.

Since she’s trying to be environmentally conscious and reuse old costumes and set pieces, do we think she’ll do a distorted mashup of her past tour stages like bits of the BTWB

This topic came up during a recent interview and she stated that she's trying to be environmentally cautious but that doesnt mean Coachella will necessarily be that :giveup:

edit: will try find the interview

Both weekends? Don't they usually just stream the first performance?

I'm camping in Safari :ororomunroe: :holdmyhand:

You’re gonna love it! Did Safari weekend 2 last year and had a blast. The golf carts and guest passes make things so much easier

Ahhhhh!!! I'm so excited!!!:excited2:

With the guest passes, how close were you able to get to the barricade for the main stage?!? :enigma:

Any other things you would recommend to bring? :hug:

So the guest pass gets you access to a guest viewing area which is separate from the other area. However, you cannot get true Main Stage barricade with it, because in front of the guest area is the artist viewing area for the artist's guests. However, you can easily get barricade for the catwalk with that.

If you want true stage barricade, use the golf cart service to take you to the Main Stage at 1 pm. You will have a separate entrance from the back road and be allowed in earlier than GA and VIP (usually main gates open at 1:30 pm, but Safari can get in at 1ish). Then you can book it to the GA area barricade and claim whatever spot you want, but you'll need to stay there all day. If you have a friend, you can hold spots for each other, but after 4:00 pm don't expect to get back to the barricade, so leave by 3:30 for your last bathroom break, and hydrate earlier in the day.

I went both weekends last year. Weekend 1 I did the hotel package with GA tickets and we actually got true barricade. Weekend 2 I did Safari with a different friend and we were the second row of the guest area behind the artist area (we could've had a better spot, but my friend was sensitive to the heat and didn't want to stand out too early)

For the other stages, you can easily get barricade with your guest pass, just not the Main Stage. I showed up to Renée Rapp two minutes late and still had barricade (she was playing the Outdoor Stage).

I assume on Gaga Day you'll be waiting all day, but on the other days, the great thing about camping onsite (regardless of which campsite) is being able to go back to your tent in the middle of the day to leave or grab things, change your clothes, etc.

Oh, and if you're driving, bring a kiddie pool. They'll inflate it and fill it for you in Safari. They'll also bring you ice for your coolers. You'll have a mini fridge in your tent too. The A/C isn't the best during the day, but you'll be comfy at night because it cools down anyway. They have free late-night food as well as breakfast, but you have to pay for drinks (minus coffee and tea in the morning). The late-night food last year was super weird––every night was some sort of beef (roast beef, prime rib, filet...).

//////////

For anyone going to Coachella, regardless of your ticket and whether you're camping or staying in a hotel, I suggest checking out the Coachella Reddit page. Stuff I found imperative to have both weekends:

* comfortable shoes (you will walk a LOT)

* a plastic water bottle to refill at the hydration stations

* face masks plus bandanas as it can get very dusty

* parasol / hat

* sunblock

* hand sanitizer plus pocket tissues

* Liquid IV

* jacket/hoodie for nighttime––it gets COLD!

Be careful of your stuff; there are pickpockets galore and a phone theft ring. Also, if someone asks you if you have any illegal substances, say no. If they try to sell you anything, say no. So many undercover cops there.

Oh, and if you only want Gaga merch, don't waste your time standing in line at the main merch tent. At the back of the festival they have merch tents for the headliners, and the lines are much shorter.

There is a lot of good food at Coachella, but it's $$$. I don't know the vendors this year, but last year I loved Spicy Pie (pizza) and Bang Bang Noodles (thick spicy noodles).

I'm bummed I can't go this year, but I have work deadlines, so I'll be watching the livestream at home. I had never been before last year but truly enjoyed it. It's a lot of fun regardless of what kind of ticket you have, basically like a giant carnival with all sorts of music.

Not sure if anybody else asked this already, but, what would be a good strategy to get barricade for Gaga? I’m going weekend 2. I’m already planning on being at the Coachella stage for Missy’s entire set, so, I’ll try getting there a good hr before. Should I camp out earlier than that?

Last year we got barricade for No Doubt at the main stage by showing up to the main gates at 7:00 am. Now, that was probably a little too early, as other people didn't show up till around 9 am. When the gates opened at 1:30, we went through security and then ran our asses off to the main stage and stayed there all day. There were three of us, and we took turns for food/drink runs and bathroom breaks. After 4:30 pm, there was no way we would've made it back to our spots if we left. The only way you're going to have front row barricade is to get there as soon as the gates open. If you're okay with catwalk barricade, you can come later. If you only come one hour before MIssy's set, you won't have front row barricade, but you might be able to score catwalk barricade.
