everyone on here talks crap about the games artists play releasing 28263738 versions of the same album to stay on the charts, and it’s just sad that it’s more about strategic efforts instead of songs doing well just because they’re of high quality - which DWAS is in my opinion

Sure, requests might help, but it's not what gets song played, it's literally the will of those in power. You can look it up and you'll find testimonials of many radio DJs to back up this, radio listeners even report on hearing themselves requesting for songs on the radio *months* after they made a call, because what gets played is always decided beforehand by the same people on top. 

So what we, as a fandom, are pushing for right now, is for DWAS to have its rightfully deserved No. 1 spot on the Hot 100, because it really has been the No. 1 song played by people in the US for more than a couple of weeks, but unfortunately, given how the chart works, it hasn't reflected it yet.

I see what you’re saying, but if we know the chart is so plagued by radio and not an accurate reflection, why should we even care?

 

Why does it matter if it goes to #1 on a nonsensical chart?
