I mean the reports are already coming out that Team Trump is pissed off with Elon hanging around Mar a lago non-stop since election day. 

I genuinely think this 2nd term team hasn't got the brains to get their **** together to actually achieve any lasting impact. Which obviously means they are potentially way more damaging on the economic front

I disagree with that tho. Obviously I wouldnt want Trump again but in a more general basis... re-elections can also help with consistency and give time for policy to work.

 

When u keep shifting ppl constantly one starts to just undo what someone else did and things are in constant flux and uncertainty

 

Additionally I think the prospect of re-election can definitely provide extra incentive for a politician to actually try to keep their promisses. If someone knows they cant be re-elected anyway it makes breaking promisses less of a consequence (something I notice in the US is worse than in most Countries, most of what they say they are going to do just doesnt get done)

 

Lastly the argument youll just get a dictator hasnt held true in most Countries that allow unlimited terms. Ppl still get tired of you and elect someone else eventually. Meanwhile as America has proven, having a 2 term limit doesnt guarantee u wont get someone with a dictator like mentality in office
