Teletubby 136,684
People will be able to hear what extinct animals may have sounded like for the first time, thanks to Björk and AI software. The artist announced on social media that a new installation at Paris’ Centre Pompidou, titled Nature Manifesto, will feature sounds that she and producer Aleph created, along with a recording of her reading her manifesto, in association with IRCAM. The installation comes ahead of a collaboration with French and Icelandic environmental activists. Visitors will be able to hear Björk and Aleph’s work, which runs three minutes and 40 seconds, at Centre Pompidou between Nov. 20 and Dec. 9. It’s part of the museum’s “Biodiversity: Which culture for which future?” exhibition. source https://twitter.com/bjork/status/1856379710366007532 "A rat is a rat" 1 5

Freud 5,456
That is so cool, Björk really is such a unique artist that so far into her career is creating such amazing content for her fans and the world to appreciate.
Mars 1,935
Mothering as usual. Happy to see AI being used in a genuine and artistic way - with a deeper message.
CautiousLurker 17,386
AI generated content consumes an exuberant amount of energy, deploying it on its own merits is gross considering the tech is built on laundered data, but to use it in the name of environmental activism is vomit inducing levels of hypocrisy. Sadly people won't see it that way - I remember how users on here made fun of me for pointing out AI generated images will destroy illustration market (which is exactly what happened btw), but this is shameful.
