Kayi 2,800 Posted November 9, 2024 Share Posted November 9, 2024 It's my fav snippet and I love the funky and darkwave vibes of this song, but also the esoteric aspect of the lyrics To me the lyrics are : "Now I can see straight but my hands are tied I could be alive, I'm just zombified Now I can see straight with the demon's eyes I could be your light, holy guide" I think it's a ref to the myth of Faust. Faust see the reality clearer, has more knowledge than any other human being since he made a pact with Mephistopheles. But he feels unsatisfied bc he sold his soul. He was a preceptor so that's why he can also be perceived as a guide. But what did Gaga meant to say with those lyrics? Well, it could be about her relationship with the music industry. How sometimes they maybe tried/tries to limits her creativity. But it can slso be about the way some ppl says that she made a pact with the devil to be creative and talented.  In my peace era.
