I honestly think the original plans banked on JFAD being a massive blockbuster and when they saw the VFF critics reactions they hit the breaks knowing the film was a bust.

Likely released the "lead" single to keep fans happy because can you imagine the meltdowns on this site if we sat through Harlequin & JFAD bombing and didn't have an October LG7 single to cling to?

I feel like the actual commercial lead single will drop in January ahead of the album coming in February and that will be the proper start to the era - completely severed from JFAD.

I see where you’re coming from, but didn’t she announce the lead before Joker premiere? When the bad reviews began to emerge, we already had the release month. The way I see, they thought Joker would enhance the lead’s scope which sadly didn’t happen :/

It's not even been a month since Gaga released the lead. Let's calm down, bec they are just getting started. I feel that the promo will really happen after the US elections. November is her chance to make Disease spread more. Thanksgiving and December, it will pause...and aside from the secret Harlequin concert, maybe they still have something up their sleeves.

I know we are all hoping for a proper rollout for such a banger, rest assured that Gaga will deliver. If nothing happens before Thanksgiving, then lets bring out the pitchforks okay? :billie: just kidding

Enjoy the music on its own for now...Use your imagination. Log out, listen on the radio, play it and let your friends hear it, your coworkers hear it, your families hear it. Dance to it and make your own choreo.

We are the promo :brat:... for now

The thing that i miss the most is seeing her in public wearing high fashion.

For me it won't feel like a proper Gaga era till she starts doing that again

Same. I really miss the fashion.

She hasn’t really made a public appearance since Disease release to give us that full aesthetic of this era.

Gaga, please go to the convenience store to buy some gum…

Really? Every single person I played the song to really liked it. The song is doing pretty good here in Switzerland and is all over the radio.

I really think Disease is an amazing song and a great choice. She just needs to promote it more. Where are the lives ffs.

I guess Switzerland has taste then

If I remember rightly it was the same day/weekend.

I don't think they never planned to release in October. I think that was set in stone.

I just think its the promo they dropped/reworked/replanned in light of JFAD to avoid LG7 & Disease being tied to the film's flop.

Like look at the confusion we had around the Happy Mistake performance on JK live. Where at one point it even looked cancelled. Part of my wonders if it was always intended to be Happy Mistake performed or they readjusted.

The problem is everyone has a different idea of what 'promo' is...anyone who thinks TV interviews, award show performances and magazine covers would somehow make Disease more successful are sadly living in 2010.

The world has changed. The most successful 'rollouts' in entertainment in recent years are the Barbie movie and Brat. Both used social media to perfection, thus creating a buzz, thus creating a trend. Trends rule pop culture now.

Clearly Gaga needs some younger people on her team so she can connect to a younger demographic, which would in turn help her to be more successful. I don't blame Bobby, I think he does a good job. He just needs other, younger people to be able to bounce ideas off so Gaga can actually live up to her potential because the single she's made is freaking awesome.

People saying Disease aint the lead, as much as i want to believe that...Gaga barely does MV why would she do a MV to a song that isnt the lead, and Disease MV doesnt look that cheap either...

Quizás bastaba respirar, sólo respirar, muy lento...💙

The last few pages of this thread seem to be equating fans wanting promo to chart success. 99% of people here want promo just for the fun of it. To rewatch performances years from now, to reenact the choreography, to see some high fashion, to just have something memorable. ARTPOP was truly the last era she made fun and exciting for fans

I want to know what gaga is doing the next 2 months. Is she just going to chill until January? Does she really have nothing planned for Disease at all?

It’ll be even worse if the harlequin special comes out at Thanksgiving. I can see fans being upset she’s still promoting a less exciting project from two months ago vs her own lead single from LG7

I couldn’t remember so I checked the dates, she announced the lead on September 3rd and the premiere occurred on September 4th.

But now I understood what you’re saying and it makes sense. Little promo while the Joker era is still recent in the public’s eyes. And a massive promo in 2025, when Joker is “forgotten” and the album is scheduled to be released. This could be the strategy.

I think it was the initial plan, because her attendance was announced for two days, one as a performer guest and one as the interviewed guest. They just rearranged to do this all in one day.

You're right, we don't know if those things would work but us fans surely love her interviews and looks on magazines and on the streets. They're so fun and i definitely feel more engaged when Gaga shows up here and there. As of rn, and even during the Chromatica era, none of that happened and i felt completely detached from her as a result.

I feel like she needs to do at least some interviews like with Zane Lowe talking about the single a little bit. I basically just want to see her and know she's present. Lately it seems like she's used to being segregated in her mansion in Malibu.

That's fair. Don't get me wrong, I love a TV show performance or magazine cover as much as everyone else.

The problem is  they almost certainly will do that in the new year for the album which explains the dead space now as they won't want to do it twice.
