The left used to be about opportunity, innovation, progress but now its main narrative is diversity, inclusion and acceptance, and while those things are nice to an extent they do not really improve cost of living, access to resources and safety. If things don’t shift back to policy priority I can see the republican party winning most elections moving forward. I can’t agree with this. I am a Puerto Rican gay man, diversity , inclusion , and acceptance absolutely improve and affects my living.

Yea, women who lost abortion rights and are dying, opponents of Trump who he deemed as enemies and said will deploy the military against them, people who are concerned about his promise to appoint RFK who is anti vaccine as the head of health agencies, people who are concerned about the war on gaza as Trump has said he’ll support Netanyahu to do what he needs to to end it…yeah they all should stop taking everything so personally… Just because more than half of America voted for a convicted felon, who sought to overturn the 2020 election and very same system that elected him this time, doesn’t excuse their support for the sake of “change”. Good luck with that change you speak of. I respectfully disagree but i dont intend to debate on here. But i’ll say this, there are more important issues that people actually care about - the economy, illegal immigration, and america’s position as a world superpower. Yes, Trump says a-lot of sh*t but he at least he has the guts to lead a nation and fight to put America ahead. The country was in a better place in all these areas during 2016-2020 compared to the last 4 years. So instead of bashing anyone as racists/misogynists etc who supports Trump, try to understand that most people dont actually think of race, gender, whatever identity at this point. America needs a strong leader to fight for what actually matters to Americans. And the sooner the left realises this, the better chance they can have in actually winning the next election. I don't know how it is in the US but there's no left there anyway, Democrats are at best moderate right But I'm French and what you're describing doesn't reflect at all the left there. They're actually proposing a lot of things that would improve people's economical situation, but the hate that is spewed by the far right is stronger than that. It doesn't matter how good they are, when people believe that all of their problems are caused by immigrants, the gay agenda and whatever. And the sooner the left realises this, the better chance they can have in actually winning the next election. Okay, let Nicole Scherzinger have her MAGA cap in peace I really think you should actually look at studying economics before making the comments you have. To claim that the economy under Trump's managment was better really betrays how little you know of the topic. The TCJA raised federal debt and the expiry of the tax cuts in 2025 & 2028 respectively are expected to cost the US trillions. The TCJA led to investment declining & failed to bring business activity back from overseas. 84% of companies when polled by the National Association for Business Economics stated they did not alter their hiring or investment practices in response to recieving the tax cuts. An est 60% of the tax savings went to Shareholders, only 15% went to Employees in any format. In the 2 years following the TCJA, the top 6 banks saved $32bn - and in response to this saving they cut lending, cut jobs and raised shareholder payouts. The TCJA has failed to pay for itself. The promised growth & spending never materialised. Corporate tax receipts fell from $409bn in Q1 2017 (pre-cuts) to $269bn in Q1 2018. By the end of Sept 2018, tax reciepts were down 31%. It increased the federal defecit. Trump's other major Financial Policy platform was numerous trade disputes including the US-China trade war & major trade disputes with the EU, Japan, Canada & Mexico. Thanks to Trump, American farmers lost access to China which was their second largest market for agricultural export. The EU & China imposed reconcilable tariffs on American exports in response, primarily affecting the agricultural industry in the Midwest states. This failed trade war started by Trump led to the Trump administration having to introduce a bailout programme for the Midwest of $12bn. Which then had to be uprated a year later to $16bn. In North Dakota, the public health officials there reported a rising number of suicides among young farmers as a result of this policy. US banks reported an increase in late payments by US farmers and the Fed Bank of Minneapolis (a major agricultural state) reported bankruptcies rising by 30%. US farmers profit decreased by 11% as a result of Trump's America First economic policy of tarrifs. The value of trade in Soybeans with China alone was worth $19.1bn, after the tarrifs it fell to $9.1bn. An estimated 300,000 jobs had been lost or delayed from creation in the manufacturing, warehousing, distribution & retail industries were lost in the US by August 2019. With a 2021 study finding that 245,000 jobs were lost as a direct result. Tariffs led to a net loss of US manufacturing jobs. By Sept 2019, American manufacturers were reducing their capital investiments and delaying hiring due ot the trade war. The US trade deficit increased to a record high with economists finding that the trade cut offs from China had led to a functional tax hike on US companies and consumers as a result of the higher cost of sourcing alternative imports with the loss of Chinese ones. Analysis by the Peterson Institute found that without the trade war then US exports to China would have been $119bn more than they were between 2018 to 2021. And that the trade war cost the US taxper $30bn in bailouts and subsidies. And guess what. Trump is such a ****ing genius that after the major success of his trade war in 2018 to 2020, he wants another one. AN EVEN BIGGER ONE. His campaign platform explicitly states he wants to impose taxes of 10 to 20% on ALL imports and is proposing a 60%+ tariff on all Chinese imports. And in response to this, the EU and other nations have started preparing retaliatory taxes on American exports. As a result of his election on a platform of tariffs there are already multiple reports of manufacturers telling their employees that planned pay rises will be delayed & planned Christmas bonuses were being scrapped because the companies were moving now to buy in a stockpile of imports crucial to their business in the next 2 months before the Trump administration begins in January. 3
