She was VP this whole time

The VP has zero control over this stuff. Let’s not turn into Trumpian-like people who use fake news to make a point please

As a European:

We're not doing much better :saladga:

To be honest, we are. We’re not at a place where a (far) right wing party gets between 55 to 71% of the vote.

edit: I do believe “right” has different definitions by now for the US and other countries, but too lazy/at the gym right now to elaborate any further, maybe someone wants to do so 😅

God, this whole night made me see why there’s such a divide in politics. Just a bunch of fake news and a bunch of “I care more about feelings than I do about facts” going on. We are so ****ing doomed as a species:saladga:

Question: I'm not American, but I've noticed that in every elections, a vast majority of states in the middle portion of the US mostly vote for republicans and only the tiny states in the side (except California) vote for democrats. Don't the democrats appeal much to major portions of America? It's like they are too dependent on the tiny states.

Went to bed with a bad feeling...cause it shouldn't be that hard... woke up to what was already fearing.

Americans want him has their leader again...  It's beyond my understanding.

It is what it is... I don't really know what to say. Let see what this will represent for the rest of us non Americans.

'cause Kamala aint Biden. They're two different people that share the same party. And while she was the VP and could've pushed for more during this past term at the end of the day she's the VP and not everything is up to her.

If you think that way you would never vote again 'cause all parties have done something wrong.

Ok but she literally said she would continue Biden's Israel policy if she was elected. So this isn't just about her being the VP and watching someone do something wrong (and I think endorsing a livestreamed genocide and suppressing protest is not just something wrong but pretty much the most extremely anti-Democratic thing you could possibly do), this is about her framing what has been done wrong as the correct trajectory.

Fair enough, I didn’t look at every state and was more speaking from a somewhat informed feeling.
I also don’t wanna fight whatsoever, just trying to center myself a little again and that there is still hope for Euros to pull through. Poland was and still is a great example and I do believe there is power that can be harvested in our representative democracies. We had a few state elections this year in Germany and the worst a right wing party was able to do were 32% (which is still devastating, but not 71). So at least we need to stay strong and don’t fall into despair convincing our selfs that „that’s just the way the cookie crumbles“

i just don't get how a criminal, someone whos proven time and time again how much of a disgusting person he is, someone who sees women as a piece of meat, someone who is so xenophobic and facist to go out their way to build a wall, someone who loves war, and many more things, can be president

truly worried about the future
