America will do anything but hold a rapist accountable and make a qualified woman bend over backwards to prove her worth.

F*ck everyone who voted for him, third party, and those who did not vote. Let this be a reminder to those who could have voted for Kamala that life is so much more complex than single issue voting.

I don't think so. Not totally anyway. Our institutions will take a massive hit and we won't be the same after he's gone but he will be gone in four years.

hes stated multiple times he wants to remove term limits for the president

his supreme court is stacked right

liberal justices are looking to retire

SCOTUS literally gave him presidential immunity

alarms should be going off in your head - this is not a joke

Lol so the Supreme Court is a literal Christofascist council for the rest of my life. Coolcoolcoolcoolcool.

Lemme hop off here before I say something that's gonna get me banned bc that's the only stuff I have to say for the foreseeable future.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

Thank god I live in CA. I lived in FL in 2016 and was so traumatized and depressed I didn’t leave bed for like four days. I am similarly so sad about the results and what they mean, but to others in predominantly red states just know there are liberal safe havens in the US supported by welcoming and actually educated people who aren’t dumb bigots. Unfortunately America is too sexist at the end of the day to elect a woman. I don’t know if it will happen in my lifetime. It’s disgusting.

The method needed to ammend the Constitution to remove term limits are way beyond what is realistic for him. Its a logistical nightmare which would take years to complete.

The fücker won. My stomach is in knots at how he and his cronies are going to ruin the world.

I’m in too much shock to feel or think of anything intelligent to say. As a woman, I feel sub-human in this country. We’ve elected a rapist pedophile felon.

Harris had her issues, but any hope of things improving in Gaza, Ukraine, or really anywhere, have been scorched.

We are a shithole country and don’t deserve nice things.

Things won’t look as good here in Canada with the possibility of Poilievre being elected

One positive:

I remember during the Obama days and even before the election of 2016 when Trump had just become the nominee. At the time Democrats were laughing and cocky feeling as if the Republican party had destroyed itself and needed to rebuild as less extreme and less conspiratorial.

What happened? The exact opposite. Trump appealed to a fustrated Republican base who felt overlooked and unrepresented. It was a base that was disenfranchised and not typically showing up to vote in massive numbers (hence why the 2016 poll predictions were so wrong). He built such a strong coalition with this base that he forced the entire party to trumpify, the right wing media to adjust and finally we have a situation where basically every Republican is a Trumper.

As Trump proposes and enacts policies I predict that the progressive movement will explode. I see women fighting for their reproductive rights on mass, I see LGBTQI people fighting for gay marriage and other protections to not be rolled back, I see people becoming more and more pro-Palestine and demanding the US hold Israel to account (even as a strategic ally), I see PoC protesting injustice in policing and within the Justice system. I see anti-war protests, I see demonstrations on democracy and I see marches on income inequality.

I believe the US can survive four terrible years and build a progressive movement that shakes up US politics as we currently know it.
